The CLAT 2026 application window closes on October 31, 2025 (11:59 P.M.). This is the final opportunity for law aspirants seeking admission to the 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates must complete their registration, fill out the form, upload all documents, and pay the fee immediately. Avoid the last-minute server rush and secure your slot for the exam scheduled for December 7, 2025. Do not let technical glitches jeopardize your dream NLU seat.

The clock is ticking for all dedicated law aspirants! Today, October 31, 2025, marks the final, non-negotiable deadline for submitting the online application form for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has consistently maintained this hard deadline, and as of this morning, time is critically short.

CLAT 2026 is the gateway to the prestigious five-year integrated LL.B. and one-year LL.M. programs offered by the 22 participating National Law Universities across India. With the examination scheduled for December 7, 2025, successfully completing the application process by 11:59 P.M. tonight is the last mandatory administrative hurdle before fully focusing on preparation. Candidates who have started but not yet submitted, or those planning to apply last-minute, must act immediately to avoid the inevitable technical overload that accompanies end-of-registration periods. Incomplete applications, even with the fee paid, will be rejected.

Urgent: Last-Minute Checklist for CLAT Application Submission

The Consortium of NLUs is explicit that no extensions will be granted beyond today. A failure to submit the completed form by the deadline means missing the chance to appear for CLAT 2026 and losing an academic year. Follow this urgent checklist to ensure a successful submission.

  • Registration and Login:
    • Verify your login credentials (Mobile Number and Password) are functional.
    • Ensure the initial registration details (Name, Date of Birth, Email ID) match official documents exactly.
  • Document Verification:
    • Confirm your Photograph and Signature meet the specified size and format (JPEG, under 100 KB). Use a plain background for the photograph.
    • Ensure all necessary certificates (Class 10th and 12th Mark Sheets, Category Certificates for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) are scanned, self-attested, and uploaded in the correct fields.
  • Fee Payment:
    • Check your application fee status. The fee is ₹4,000/- for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates and ₹3,500/- for SC/ST/BPL candidates.
    • Ensure the payment transaction is fully completed and reflected as 'SUCCESSFUL' on the portal. Do not rely on the bank’s deduction message alone.
  • Final Submission:
    • Review the entire form, especially the NLU Preferences and Test Centre Choices.
    • Click the 'Submit' button and download and print the Confirmation Page. This page is the only proof of successful application submission.

Key Details: CLAT 2026 Eligibility and Exam Schedule

Understanding the core details of the exam is crucial now that the application window is closing. Aspirants should be acutely aware of the eligibility requirements and the final exam date to structure their remaining preparation time.

  • CLAT UG 2026 (5-Year LL.B. Program) Eligibility:
    • Educational Qualification: Passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination. Candidates appearing in the March/April 2026 exam are also eligible to apply.
    • Minimum Marks (Class 12): 45% marks for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories; 40% for SC/ST categories.
    • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for CLAT UG.
  • CLAT PG 2026 (1-Year LL.M. Program) Eligibility:
    • Educational Qualification: An LL.B. Degree from a BCI-recognized University.
    • Minimum Marks (LL.B.): 50% marks for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI; 45% for SC/ST categories.
  • Examination Timeline:
    • Last Date to Apply: October 31, 2025 (Today)
    • CLAT 2026 Exam Date: Sunday, December 7, 2025 (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
    • Admit Card Release: Expected Third Week of November 2025

Post-Submission Strategy: Focus on December 7th

With the application process nearing its end, the focus shifts entirely to the exam day on December 7, 2025. The final 37 days demand intense, focused preparation.

  • Mastering the Core Sections:
    • The paper has 120 objective-type questions over 2 hours.
    • The five sections are English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.
    • The highest weightage is given to Legal Reasoning (approx. 25%) and Current Affairs/G.K. (approx. 25%).
  • Mock Test Practice:
    • Aspirants should now aim to take at least three to four full-length mock tests per week under timed conditions.
    • The most crucial step is the post-mock analysis to identify weak areas and conceptual gaps, allowing for targeted revision.
  • Revision and Time Management:
    • Focus on reading speed and comprehension, as the CLAT is a passage-based exam.
    • Practice time allocation strategies—dedicate approximately 20-25 minutes to each of the high-weightage sections to maximize attempts within the 120-minute limit. Remember, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Conclusion

The journey to a National Law University seat begins with the successful submission of this form. Do not hesitate; log in, review, pay, and submit now.
