The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has granted a crucial extension for the Karnataka NEET PG Counselling 2025 registration, offering a lifeline to numerous postgraduate medical aspirants. Originally set to close on October 9, 2025, the deadline has been extended until October 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM. This seven-day extension provides additional time for all eligible candidates who have qualified for NEET PG 2025 to complete their online applications for MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in Karnataka.

This announcement is of paramount importance for students aspiring to secure a seat in one of Karnataka’s prestigious medical institutions, as the state is well-known for offering admission opportunities to both Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates under different quota seats. The registration is mandatory for admission to Government quota, Private quota, and NRI/Management quota seats in medical colleges across the state for the academic year 2025-26.

The Critical Deadline

With the revised schedule, October 15, 2025, marks the new, firm last date for aspirants to register and pay the application fee. Considering the initial registration period commenced on October 4, 2025, the window is now on its tenth day (Day 10), leaving only three days left (including the current day, October 13, 2025) until the final submission time. Aspirants must treat this as the third last day and avoid the last-minute rush, which often leads to technical glitches or transaction failures on the official KEA website: cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.

Key Action Points for Aspirants

All NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates who have not yet registered or paid the fee are strongly advised to complete the following steps immediately:

  1. Visit the Official KEA Website: Go to cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and click on the PGET 2025 or PG NEET registration link.
  2. Complete Online Registration: Fill in all personal, academic, and NEET PG details accurately.
  3. Pay Application Fee: Submit the non-refundable registration fee online. Fees vary by candidate category (e.g., General, SC/ST, Non-Karnataka, NRI) and must be paid before the 11:00 AM deadline on October 15.
  4. Save Confirmation: Download and save the final application form and fee payment receipt for future reference, especially for the subsequent document verification stage.

What Follows Registration

Successful registration is the gateway to the subsequent stages of the medical counselling process. While the full schedule for the First Round's choice filling, seat matrix release, mock allotment, and final seat allotment is yet to be announced, typically, these events follow shortly after the registration window closes. The entire process, which usually includes Round 1, Round 2, and a Mop-Up Round, is conducted in an online, computer-based manner based on the candidate's NEET PG merit rank, category/reservation, and the preferences they enter during choice filling.

Aspirants are reminded that this state counselling is a high-stakes event. Carefully planning the choice-filling strategy and ensuring all original documents (NEET PG Scorecard/Admit Card, MBBS mark sheets, Internship Completion Certificate, MCI/SMC Registration, etc.) are ready for the Document Verification process is crucial. Any discrepancy or delay in documentation could lead to the cancellation of candidature.
