GATE 2026: Last Opportunity to Apply with Late Fee
The period for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 registration without a late fee ended yesterday. Starting today, September 29, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has officially opened the late fee registration window, providing a final opportunity for aspirants who missed the initial deadline.
Candidates who still need to submit their applications for M.Tech/Ph.D. admissions must complete the process on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in
, by October 9, 2025.
Key Fee Change:
- Applicants must now pay an additional late fee. For General, OBC, and EWS candidates, the fee has increased from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 per paper. For Female, SC/ST, and PwD candidates, the fee is now ₹1,500 per paper.
JEE Main 2026 Syllabus Undergoes Major Revision
In a major development for Class 11 and 12 students preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the updated syllabus, featuring several significant deletions and changes.

- Physics: Topics like the 'Communication System' chapter have reportedly been removed.
- Chemistry: Several chapters have been deleted from Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry sections, including 'Surface Chemistry,' 'States of Matter,' 'Polymers,' and 'Environmental Chemistry.'
- Mathematics: Chapters like 'Mathematical Induction' and 'Mathematical Reasoning' have been removed.
