The National Testing Agency (NTA) is officially wrapping up the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main today, January 29, 2026. This final day is dedicated to Paper 2A and 2B, specifically for students aspiring for architecture and planning degrees. The previous days, from January 21 to 28, saw a massive turnout for the B.E./B.Tech Paper 1, with a reported attendance rate of over 96%.

As the Exams conclude, the atmosphere across test centers is one of relief and anticipation. The NTA has employed high-tech surveillance and Aadhaar-based verification to maintain the integrity of the Exams this year. According to the Official NTA Portal, the process has remained largely seamless across the country, with only minor technical glitches reported in a few centers.

Student Reactions and Shift Towards Results

Candidates who appeared in the final shifts have noted that the difficulty level of the mathematics section remained high, consistent with the earlier shifts of the session. Now that the Exams are over, the focus moves to the release of the provisional answer keys.

  • Attendance Data: Early reports suggest that out of over 8 lakh registered Candidates, the vast majority appeared for the January session.
  • Provisional Keys: The NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 Answer Key within the next 48 to 72 hours.
  • Scorecard Expectations: Students can access their response sheets soon by logging into the Candidate Dashboard.

The data indicates that the competitive spirit remains intense, as these Exams serve as the primary gateway to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other prestigious central technical institutions.

Conclusion

With the final bell ringing on the January session, the focus now turns to the evaluation phase. The NTA is set to release the Session-1 results by mid-February, allowing students to gauge their performance before the April session registration begins. All updates regarding the result link and the final answer key will be posted on the National Testing Agency Website.
