The official notification for the Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering (AEEE) 2026 has brought great news to engineering aspirants across the country. The registration window for AEEE 2026 is now live, marking the commencement of the admission cycle for B.Tech programmes at the highly-ranked Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. This entrance test is conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across various cities, and this year, the process is streamlined to offer maximum flexibility to candidates. A critical step in the process, the AEEE 2026 Phase 1 Slot Booking, is scheduled to start on January 10, 2026. Given the limited number of slots, aspirants are strongly advised to complete their registration well in advance of the Phase 1 application deadline, which is January 15, 2026. Amrita University offers two routes for admission: through AEEE rank or via JEE Main percentile, a dual opportunity designed to maximise student chances of securing a seat in one of its renowned campuses.

 Key Dates and Examination Schedule

The AEEE 2026 is strategically planned in two phases, granting candidates a second opportunity to improve their scores. Aspirants only need to fill out one application form to be considered for both phases. Understanding the timeline is crucial for effective preparation and application submission.

  • AEEE 2026 Phase 1 Registration Deadline: The last date to submit the application form for Phase 1 is January 15, 2026.
  • Phase 1 Slot Booking: The window to reserve your preferred exam date and time slot for Phase 1 starts on January 10, 2026. This is a first-come, first-served process.
  • Phase 1 Exam Dates: The Computer-Based Test (CBT) for AEEE 2026 Phase 1 is scheduled from January 29 to February 1, 2026.
  • Phase 2 Exam Dates: Candidates who wish to attempt the exam again can appear for Phase 2, which will be held from April 25 to April 30, 2026.
  • Admission Options: Candidates can apply using their AEEE 2026 Rank or their JEE Main 2026 Percentile Score. Application via the JEE Main percentile is also facilitated through the same portal, often without additional fees if AEEE registration is already done.

 Application Process and Eligibility Criteria

The process to apply for AEEE 2026 is entirely online and user-friendly, managed through the Amrita Online Application Portal (AOAP). Candidates must ensure they meet the minimum eligibility requirements before proceeding with the registration and payment.

  • Online Registration Steps:
    • Visit the official Amrita admissions portal.
    • Complete the initial registration by providing basic details like name, valid email ID, and mobile number (verified via OTP).
    • Log in to fill out the detailed application form, including personal, academic, and contact information.
    • Select your preferred mode of admission (AEEE only, JEE Main only, or Both) and mandatory three city choices for the AEEE exam.
    • Upload scanned copies of a recent passport-size photograph and signature, adhering to the specified file format and size.
    • Pay the non-refundable application fee (typically ₹1300 for AEEE/AEEE + JEE Main) using online modes.
  • Essential Eligibility Requirements:
    • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for their Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as core subjects.
    • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in PCM is required in the qualifying examination. Additionally, candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) individually.
    • Age Limit: The candidate's date of birth must fall on or after July 1, 2005, to be eligible for AEEE 2026.

 Understanding the Revised Exam Pattern

Aspirants should note a key change in the AEEE 2026 exam pattern to align their preparation strategy effectively. The exam remains a Computer-Based Test (CBT) of 2.5 hours) duration. The total number of questions is 100, accounting for a maximum of 300 marks.

  • Subject-wise Distribution and Marking Scheme:
    • Mathematics: 40 Questions (120 Marks)
    • Physics: 25 Questions (75 Marks)
    • Chemistry: 20 Questions (60 Marks)
    • Quantitative Aptitude (New Section): 10 Questions (30 Marks)
    • English: 5 Questions (15 Marks)
  • Marking: Each correct answer carries +3 marks, and there is a penalty of -1 mark for every incorrect answer. This negative marking system makes accuracy as important as speed.
  • Syllabus Focus: The questions are primarily based on the NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The newly introduced Quantitative Aptitude section requires additional practice for problem-solving skills and logical reasoning.

In summary, the opening of AEEE 2026 registration and the imminent start of the Phase 1 slot booking are critical milestones for all B.Tech aspirants. The two-phase structure and the option to apply via JEE Main offer an excellent opportunity to secure a seat at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, a top-ranked institution known for its high academic standards and strong emphasis on research. Strategic planning, early application, and focused preparation, especially in light of the revised exam pattern, will be key to success. Ensure you complete your registration now and prepare to book your most convenient slot from January 10 to lock in your chance for AEEE 2026.
