The NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule remains unannounced by the MCC, plunging thousands of medical aspirants into deep uncertainty amid cancelled results, data leak allegations, and a crucial Supreme Court hearing scheduled for October 28. While central counselling is stalled, multiple states have begun their local PG medical admissions process. Visit: https://mcc.nic.in/pg-medical-counselling/

An atmosphere of escalating anxiety and prolonged uncertainty grips lakhs of medical aspirants awaiting admission to PG Medical Degree and Diploma courses. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is yet to release the official schedule for the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 counselling, leaving the academic fate of thousands in limbo as the admission cycle drags into the third-last quarter of the academic year.

The lack of official clarity from the MCC, which governs the All India Quota (AIQ), Deemed, and Central University seats, is the primary source of distress. While the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) suggested that the NEET PG counselling 2025 process might kick off by mid-October, this remains an unofficial projection. Without a firm date from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) or the MCC, aspirants cannot finalize their planning for registration, choice filling, or relocation, compounding the stress associated with securing a coveted postgraduate seat.

Twin Controversies Add to Aspirants' Distress

The counselling delay is now intertwined with disturbing controversies surrounding the examination. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) recently announced the cancellation of NEET PG results for 22 candidates following investigations into the use of unfair means. While this action affirms the integrity of the process, it has been overshadowed by an alarming allegation: reports have surfaced claiming a privacy breach where sensitive details of NEET PG 2025 aspirants are allegedly being sold online. This alleged data leak has sparked widespread outrage among the student community and medical fraternity, calling for immediate investigation and enhanced security measures.

Adding to the complexity is the legal dimension. The prolonged admission saga is currently under the purview of the Supreme Court, with the next crucial hearing on the NEET PG case scheduled for October 28. The outcome of this hearing is expected to provide significant direction, particularly concerning any judicial intervention required to expedite the admission process or address the irregularities raised by the petitioners. For medical aspirants, the judiciary remains a critical point of focus, potentially determining the timeline for their careers.

State Quota Counselling Offers a Glimmer of Hope

Despite the stalled central process, there is a silver lining for aspirants: several states have proactively commenced their local counselling procedures for the 50% State Quota seats. States including Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala have already initiated the registration and documentation process for admissions to MD, MS, and DNB programmes. This progress offers a necessary relief valve, allowing candidates who qualify for the respective state quotas to move forward while the central machinery resolves its delays.

Aspirants are strongly advised to remain vigilant regarding both the MCC's official website for the AIQ schedule and the respective state counselling authority portals. Readiness is key; all necessary documents, including the NEET PG Rank Card and medical degrees, should be prepared for immediate submission upon the announcement of the official schedule.
