Odisha NEET UG 2026 Stray Merit List Released: What MBBS and BDS Applicants Should Check

Published 19 Oct 20265 min read5 Views

Odisha has published the state merit list for MBBS and BDS admissions after stray-vacancy-round registration for the 2026–27 session. The notice is dated 18 October 2026. Candidates should check their entry through the official OJEE medical counselling page, but should not treat inclusion in this list as confirmation of a college seat. The document carries a “final state merit list” heading while explaining that candidature remains provisional and subject to verification. That distinction matters: an applicant’s position in a list and an actual admission are different stages.
What has been released?
The latest list belongs to the NEET UG stray vacancy round, not NEET PG counselling and not Odisha’s nonmedical postgraduate admissions. OJEE has also linked the round’s counselling instructions and vacancy information on the same medical admissions page. Use the current round’s documents together rather than relying on an earlier Round 3 screenshot. A familiar college name or an old merit position does not establish what is available in this round.
| Document | What to use it for |
|---|---|
| State merit list | Find your application entry and check the details recorded against it |
| Vacancy information | Review the colleges, courses and categories being offered |
| Stray-round instructions | Understand participation restrictions and reporting requirements |
| Allotment communication | Check whether a seat has actually been offered to you |
These documents answer different questions. Reading one does not replace the others.
Check your entry carefully
Open the official MBBS/BDS counselling page and select the list published after stray-vacancy registration. Search the downloaded file using your NEET application number. Match the entry against your own application records before drawing conclusions about your position.
Keep your NEET All India Rank separate from your Odisha counselling rank. Do not assume that a category position is interchangeable with either. If something appears inconsistent, retain the relevant page and your application acknowledgement so you can explain the issue clearly through OJEE’s official contact route.
Avoid sharing a full page of other candidates’ details in public groups. For your own records, save only the information needed to identify and review your application.
Being listed does not remove eligibility restrictions
OJEE’s stray-round instructions exclude candidates admitted through MCC by the end of its Round 3 or stray round, and those admitted through OJEE by the end of Round 3, including upgradation.
Applicants should therefore review their actual admission status before taking the next step. Seeing an application number in the merit list is not a reason to ignore a participation restriction.
Original documents will be checked during reporting or admission. Keep your application records and certificates organised now rather than leaving that work until an allotment appears.
Plan for the steps after allotment
The round’s instructions require allotted candidates to complete the prescribed online formalities and physical reporting. Missing the required reporting steps can cancel an allotment.
As a practical preparation exercise, make a short checklist covering documents, travel, payment arrangements and the colleges you would genuinely join. Discuss affordability before committing to a preference, and check institution-specific charges directly rather than treating tuition alone as the full cost.
Use the latest official schedule for each action’s deadline. The publication of a merit list does not, by itself, reopen registration or create a fresh choice-filling window.
For further updates, follow Only Education’s medical news alongside the OJEE counselling instructions. The immediate task is to confirm your entry and eligibility, then follow the applicable next step—not assume that the list is an admission letter.
