NMAT 2026, NMIMS MBA 2027 Applications Close Oct 25

Candidates planning to take NMAT by GMAC 2026 or apply for NMIMS MBA 2027 have an important October 25 deadline approaching. GMAC’s latest official schedule keeps both NMAT registration and exam scheduling open through October 25, 2026. The NMAT testing window will then run from November 2 to December 20, 2026. NMIMS has separately extended its MBA 2027 application deadline to October 25. Candidates targeting NMIMS should note that completing the NMAT form alone does not complete the NMIMS MBA application. 

NMAT 2026 and NMIMS MBA 2027: Important Dates

GMAC’s current official Important Dates page confirms these dates. 

NMAT Registration and NMIMS Application Are Separate

This is the most important point for candidates targeting NMIMS. GMAC says registering for NMAT is only one part of the MBA admission process and candidates must separately apply to the B-schools or MBA programmes they want to join.

NMIMS describes the process as:

• Step 1: Register for NMAT by GMAC and schedule the examination.
• Step 2: Complete the NMIMS MBA application.

For Step 2, NMIMS instructs candidates to log in using their NMAT by GMAC ID, complete the admission form, pay the NMIMS application fee and finally submit the application. NMIMS explicitly says the application is considered complete only after Step 2 has been successfully submitted. 

NMAT Registration Closes October 25

GMAC currently lists the NMAT 2026 registration period from August 20 to October 25, 2026. Candidates who have not registered should complete the form and payment before the published closing date. The official Important Dates page does not display a specific deadline hour for October 25. Candidates should therefore not assume the portal will remain open until 11:59 PM.

NMAT Slot Scheduling Also Ends October 25

Scheduling has the same closing date as registration: October 25, 2026.  GMAC advises candidates to book early because test slots are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Waiting until the final day can mean a candidate’s preferred:

• exam date;
• test time;
• testing city;
• test centre

may no longer be available.

NMIMS MBA 2027 Application Also Closes October 25

The official NMIMS admissions page currently states:

1. Application Extended Till: 25th October 2026. 
2. This is a separate application from NMAT.
3. Candidates who want NMIMS admission should therefore verify that both stages are complete:
4. NMAT registration/scheduling + NMIMS Step 2 application submission.

Does NMIMS Publish a Deadline Time?

The current NMIMS page gives October 25 as the application deadline but does not state a specific clock time in the visible deadline notice. 

1. Candidates should not rely on an unstated midnight cutoff.
2. Submitting earlier also gives time to resolve payment, login or document issues.

What Is the NMAT 2026 Registration Fee?

GMAC currently lists:

The NMIMS application fee is separate from the NMAT exam fee. NMIMS tells candidates to pay its application fee during Step 2, but the public page used here does not state the current amount, so it should be checked directly during the current application process rather than guessed.

When Will NMAT 2026 Be Conducted?

The NMAT exam-delivery window is scheduled from:

• November 2 to December 20, 2026. 

The exact exam date and time depend on the slot selected by the candidate and remaining availability.

Can Candidates Reschedule Their NMAT?

Yes. GMAC’s current schedule allows rescheduling through December 17, 2026. The listed rescheduling fee is ₹1,200 plus applicable taxes.  This does not guarantee availability for every preferred replacement slot.

Are NMAT Retakes Allowed?

GMAC’s NMAT platform generally permits multiple attempts in the testing year and currently schedules retake registration and scheduling from November 3 through December 17.  However, candidates applying to NMIMS need to distinguish general NMAT rules from NMIMS admission rules.

Important for NMIMS: First NMAT Attempt Matters

The current NMIMS admissions page states that NMIMS accepts only the first NMAT attempt score. Therefore, while GMAC may permit later NMAT attempts, candidates targeting NMIMS should not assume that a higher retake score will replace their first-attempt score for NMIMS admission. This is an important strategic point when selecting the initial exam date.

Does NMIMS Accept Home-Proctored NMAT Scores?

The current NMIMS admissions FAQ states that NMIMS does not accept online home-proctored test scores. Candidates applying to NMIMS should therefore follow the current NMIMS-specific test-mode requirements in addition to GMAC’s general exam rules.

What Should Candidates Do Before October 25?

Candidates taking NMAT should verify:

• NMAT registration is fully submitted;
• fee payment is successful;
• an exam slot has actually been scheduled;
• preferred test centre/date are confirmed;
• confirmation details are saved.

Candidates targeting NMIMS should additionally verify:

• their NMAT by GMAC ID is linked/used correctly;
• NMIMS Step 2 is complete;
• NMIMS application fee is paid;
• the application has been finally submitted;
• confirmation/acknowledgement is saved.

Do not treat an incomplete form, saved draft or NMAT payment alone as a completed NMIMS MBA application.
