Seats and Selection Criteria
The National Medical Commission has made close to 1,36,939 seats available for the 2026 counselling cycle. Allotments across rounds are determined using candidates' All India Rank, the choices they fill, seat availability, and applicable reservation norms.
With round 1 largely concluded across most states and MCC's AIQ round 2 now scheduled, candidates awaiting further opportunities are advised to track official counselling websites — including mcc.nic.in for AIQ seats and their respective state medical counselling portals — for updates on registration, choice filling, and reporting deadlines in the coming weeks.
