Exam Timing: There's Less Room Than You Think

NEET PG runs as a single shift, from 9 am to 12:30 pm, but the actual window for getting in is much tighter than the exam duration suggests.

That 8:30 am cutoff is absolute — NBEMS has been clear that no entry will be permitted after that time, no matter the reason. Getting to the centre with buffer time isn't optional this year; it's the safest call.

What You Actually Need to Carry

Beyond the admit card, there are a few documents candidates sometimes forget until it's too late:

• NEET PG admit card 2026
• A valid photo ID — PAN card, voter ID, driving licence, passport, or Aadhaar
• Registration certificate from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or your State Medical Council (SMC)
• Foreign nationals: passport plus proof of medical practitioner status in their home country

Face masks aren't allowed inside the centre unless backed by medical documentation, and identity checks — including CCTV monitoring — will be in place to prevent impersonation, so it's worth having everything ready and easily accessible rather than digging through a bag at the gate.

What's Banned at the Centre

The list here is fairly standard for a high-stakes exam, but worth a final glance before you leave home:

• Stationery — pens, paper, writing pads, pen drives, erasers, and similar items
• Electronics — phones, tablets, calculators, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices
• Jewellery — rings, earrings, chains, bangles
• Wallets, belts, sunglasses
• Any food items, packed or open

Basically, if it's not your admit card, ID, or the clothes on your back, it's safer left at home.

Dress Code: Simpler Really Is Better Here

NBEMS has laid out fairly specific dress guidelines, and they're strictly enforced.

For male candidates: Keep it light and simple — half-sleeved shirts or T-shirts work best. Thick-soled shoes may not be allowed in, so it's worth checking your footwear the night before.

For female candidates: Avoid full-sleeved or embroidered clothing, and skip printed jeans. Accessories like earrings, nose rings, bracelets, necklaces, and nose pins aren't permitted inside the hall — better to leave them at home than have them confiscated at the entrance.

What Comes After

NEET PG 2026 opens the door to postgraduate medical seats — MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses — across government, private, deemed, and central institutes nationwide. Results, along with the cut-off date for internship completion eligibility, are scheduled for September 30, 2026.

For now, though, the focus is simpler: get your documents together, dress according to the guidelines, and plan to reach the centre well before 8:30 am tomorrow.
