Candidates should watch the notice board at natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in. Both the answer key and the response sheet will be accessed through the candidate login, not as an open PDF.
NEET PG 2026 answer key status today
No answer key link is live as of September 16, 2026. NBEMS has not announced a date for the issuance of the NEET PG 2026 answer key, and the result is to be declared by September 30.
Treat any "answer key out" claim not carrying an NBEMS notice number as unverified.
Why NBEMS is publishing an answer key this year
For most of its history, NBEMS did not publish a NEET PG answer key at all, citing the proprietary and confidential nature of the exam. That changed last cycle. In August 2025, NBEMS published the NEET PG answer key along with candidate response sheets for the first time, following a Supreme Court directive, with the key carrying question IDs, correct answers and recorded responses.
The 2026 cycle continues that practice. NBEMS will publish the NEET PG 2026 answer key along with candidates' recorded responses — question ID numbers, correct answers, responses recorded by the candidate, the provisional answer key and question-wise responses.
How to download the NEET PG 2026 answer key and response sheet
Login credentials are required. The steps, once the link goes live:
- Visit natboard.edu.in or nbe.edu.in.
- Open the NEET PG 2026 section and click Applicant Login.
- Enter your registered User ID and password.
- Open the answer key and provisional response sheet link on the dashboard.
- Question IDs, along with the correct answers and your marked responses, will be displayed.
- Download and save a copy for your records.
Note: the earlier practice of a credential-free public PDF does not apply to the response sheet, which is candidate-specific.

NBEMS has listed the result declaration as "by September 30, 2026", with September 30 also the cut-off date for completion of the mandatory internship. That is a deadline, not a scheduled announcement time. Last cycle, the NEET PG 2025 result was declared on August 19, 2025, 16 days after the exam — an earlier declaration is possible but has not been confirmed for 2026.
How to calculate your NEET PG 2026 score
The paper changed this year, so older score calculators built for an 800-mark paper will misread your result.
NEET PG 2026 carried 180 questions for 720 marks in 3 hours 30 minutes, marked +4 for a correct answer, −1 for an incorrect one and 0 for a blank, across five time-bound sections — down from 200 questions for 800 marks in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Each of the five sections carried 36 questions, and the paper was held in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM in English only.
To work out your raw score:
Raw score = (number correct × 4) − (number incorrect × 1)
An unanswered question costs nothing, but the gap between a wrong answer and a blank is 5 marks — the 4 not earned plus the 1 deducted.
Your raw score is not your result. NBEMS converts raw marks into percentile, and the qualifying cutoff is set as a percentile before being expressed in marks.
NEET PG 2026 exam: key numbers
The examination was held on August 30 for 2,73,096 registered candidates across 1,111 centres in 339 cities, covering all 36 states and Union Territories. Of these, 2,65,980 appeared and around 2,63,535 completed the test successfully.
The September 5 re-exam cohort
NBEMS ordered a re-examination for 2,445 candidates after power and technical failures disrupted the test at two iON Digital Zone centres in Sitapura, Jaipur — test centre numbers 41682 and 41683 — with the re-exam held in Jaipur on September 5, 2026, at 3 PM. NBEMS attributed the disruption to internal power supply issues at the centres and apologised to the affected candidates.A three-member committee headed by Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary, Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department, Rajasthan, was constituted to investigate the power failure, with a Joint Secretary-level officer from the Union Health Ministry and a senior engineering official from the Central Electricity Authority.
[VERIFY] — NBEMS has not publicly clarified whether the answer key for the September 5 paper will be issued separately, or how the two papers are equated in the merit list.
NEET PG qualifying cutoff: what past cycles show
No 2026 cutoff exists yet. The percentile thresholds are fixed by NBEMS in consultation with MoHFW and announced with the result.
For reference, in the last cycle: the NEET PG 2025 qualifying mark for the general category was 276 out of 800. That cutoff was later revised. Under an MoHFW notice dated January 13, 2026, the qualifying percentile for General and EWS candidates was reduced from the 50th percentile to the 7th percentile — 103 marks out of 800 — and for SC/ST/OBC (including PwBD) from the 40th percentile to the 0th percentile, at −40 marks, for Round 3 counselling.
Two cautions for 2026 readers: those figures are on an 800-mark scale and cannot be mapped onto this year's 720-mark paper, and the downward revision applied only to a later counselling round, not to the initial result.
Marks vs rank: how to read predictor tables
Marks-versus-rank tables circulating for NEET PG 2026 are unofficial. They are built from coaching-platform estimates and memory-based feedback, not from NBEMS data, and no rank band can be confirmed until the merit list is published. Rank predictors can be useful for rough expectation-setting, but a predicted rank has no standing in counselling and should not drive choice-filling decisions.
What candidates should do next
- Keep your NEET PG User ID and password accessible; both the answer key and result require login.
- Download and save the response sheet the day it is released — access windows are usually short.
- If NBEMS opens an objection window, submit challenges only through the official portal within the stated period, with supporting references.
- Begin assembling counselling documents: MBBS degree and mark sheets, internship completion certificate, permanent or provisional registration, category and PwBD certificates where applicable, and photo ID.
