Who Conducts NCET and Why Is It Important?
The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is a national-level entrance exam held once a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the common way to get into the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at participating colleges. The ITEP was started under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as a dual-degree programme. It combines a bachelor's degree in a chosen subject with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). This programme is for students who want to become teachers after Class 12 and offers an alternative to the previous two-year B.Ed. route.
