The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) Cell has released the MHT CET final merit list 2026 today, July 27, on its official websites, cetcell.mahacet.org and fe2026.mahacet.org. Candidates aiming for admission to BE and BTech programs through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) can now download the final merit list PDF directly from the portal.
How the Final Merit List Is Prepared
The final merit list has been drawn up using candidates' Class 12 marks along with their MHT CET scores. Based on this list, the choices submitted by candidates, and seat availability, the CET Cell will proceed to allot engineering seats in the coming rounds. The list itself carries several key details for each candidate, including their name, application ID, MHT CET percentile score, state merit rank, category-wise merit rank where applicable, JEE Main merit rank for All India candidates, reservation category information, and overall eligibility status.
In cases where two candidates end up with the same percentile score, preference will be given first to the candidate with higher marks in Mathematics, followed by Physics and Chemistry, and finally to the older candidate if the tie still persists.
What Comes Next in the Counselling Process
With the final merit list out, the next major step is choice filling, where candidates will select their preferred BTech programs and colleges. This window is open from July 28 to July 30. Following this, the CAP round 1 provisional seat allotment result is scheduled to be announced on August 2, 2026. Candidates who receive a seat will then need to accept the allotment and report to their respective institutes between August 3 and August 5.
The overall MHT CET CAP 2026 counselling is being conducted across four rounds, and candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for the complete round-wise schedule as it is updated.
