The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) in Maharashtra has announced new dates for the CAP process. They have extended the registration deadline for MHT CET CAP 2026. The updated counseling schedule is now available at fe2026.mahacet.org. This extension applies to candidates from Maharashtra state as well as All India applicants. It also includes migrant candidates from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The changes apply to admissions for the first year of BE, BTech, and Integrated MTech programs. Those who missed the earlier July 12 deadline now have more time.

The CET Cell has moved all the later stages in line with the new registration deadline. Here’s the updated timeline for each activity. 

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Eligibility guidelines are based on the official MHT CET 2026 brochure. The rules vary between Maharashtra state candidates and All India candidates.

Maharashtra State Candidates

Candidates must have passed the HSC or an equivalent exam. Physics and Mathematics must be compulsory subjects in the HSC. General category candidates need a minimum of 45% aggregate.EWS, SC, and ST candidates require 40% minimum.

All India Candidates

Candidates must hold a Diploma in Engineering and Technology. General category candidates need 45% aggregate.Reserved category candidates need 40% to qualify.

What Is the Application Fee?

The CET Cell has updated the CAP 2026 fees for this cycle. General category candidates pay 300 rupees more than last year.Reserved category candidates pay 200 rupees more. Full details of the fees by category are listed in the official brochure at cetcell.mahacet.org.

How to Register for MHT CET CAP 2026?

All registration and document upload processes happen online. Follow these steps to complete your application on time.

1. Visit the official CAP portal at fe2026.mahacet.org.
2. Click on new candidate registration and create your login.
3. Fill in your personal, academic, and category details.
4. Upload the required documents in the specified format.
5. Pay the relevant CAP 2026 fee online.
6. Submit the form and save the confirmation slip.
7. Select your document verification mode as instructed.

Action Plan for Candidates

1. Log in to fe2026.mahacet.org and check your application status now.
2. Complete any missing fields by July 19, 2026, at 5 PM.
3. Keep your HSC marksheet, category proof, and domicile documents ready.
4. Finish document verification by July 20, 2026, at 5 PM.
5. Check the provisional merit list on July 22, 2026.
6. Raise any grievances before July 25, 2026.
7. Download the final merit list on July 27, 2026.
