Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) has now opened admission for various undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic session starting 2026. The deadline of the application process is June 30, 2026, and all interested candidates can apply through the official website of the Vishwavidyalaya

The university cum Vishwavidyalaya offers diverse courses across multiple domains or disciplines including Social Sciences , Science, Commerce, Agriculture, and Engineering. The admission process of the Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya of the academic session 2026-27 covers the undergrad and postgrad programs with selection process for most courses entirely based on merit . 

The Master of Science in Agriculture program requires an entrance examination which is scheduled for July 15, 2026.The candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of the program : 10+2 with minimum 60% marks for undergrad programs and bachelor's degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) for postgrad programs. 

The application fee of MGCGV ranges from ₹300 to ₹600 depending on the program a candidate is applying for. All the female candidates and SC/ST applicants receive a certain amount of concessions on application fees. The fee can be paid online through the official portal using debit card, credit cards or net banking.

Candidates must have passed Class 12th from any recognized Board with a minimum of 60% marks. For science stream programs, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects. Reserved category candidates (SC/ST) require 45% marks instead of 60% marks.  

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. SC/ST candidates require 45% marks in their bachelor's degree. For specialized programs like Master of Science in Agriculture, the candidates must have completed their graduation in related fields.

How to Apply for MGCGV Admission Process?

Students must visit the official website of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya and go to the admission portal of the University.

Candidates need to fill in all the required details and upload scanned copies of the necessary documents.

The application process is quite formal and can be completed easily within minutes from home.

Applicants must submit scanned copies of Class 12th Mark sheet, bachelor's degree certificate (for PG program), and a valid identity proof. Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC) have to be uploaded if applicable. A recent passport-size photograph and signature are also compulsory for the completion of application form.

Selection Process and Merit-Based Admission

Most Undergraduate programs’ selection process is based on Class 12th marks. Postgraduate programs like Master of Business Administration, Master of Science, and Master of Education will take students through an entrance examination after which a  counseling process would be held. The university follows Madhya Pradesh state reservation policy with 16% SC, 20% OBC, and 2% ST reservations.

What must Candidates do?

Candidates have to download and save the application receipt for future reference and the counseling process. Admit cards of the examination will be released on the official website before the exam date. Students must check the official portal regularly for updates regarding exam schedules and result announcements.

After entrance exams have been completed , qualified candidates will be called for the counselling process based on merit. The dates of the Counselling process will be announced separately on the official website.
