What to Focus On While Applying

    • Deadline: Round 1 registration closes 21 October, 12 noon (fee payment by 3 PM). Register early.
    • Details: Name, roll number, date of birth and category must match your documents exactly.
    • Category and quota: Select it carefully, as it decides which seats you can claim.
    • Documents: Keep scanned copies ready (scorecard, admit card, date-of-birth proof, MBBS papers, registration and internship certificates).
    • Choices: Fill in plenty, in order of real preference. You can only be allotted a seat you listed.
    • After allotment: Pick Freeze (report in person) or Float (upgrade, verified online).

Review everything before submitting, and check MCC’s bulletin on mcc.nic.in for final rules.

  13. 14 Oct 2026, 11:58 am IST#43

Do You Need to Visit the Allotted College for Verification?

It depends on whether you choose Freeze or Float after allotment.

    What changed this year
MCC has introduced a Freeze and Float system for NEET PG 2026, which cuts down travel to colleges during admission.

If you choose Freeze (happy with your seat)
You must visit the college in person. You report to the college, submit your certificates, pay the fee and complete admission. deccanchronicle

If you choose Float (want an upgrade)
No college visit is needed at this stage. The college nodal officer verifies your documents online and provisionally confirms the seat. Float candidates can also withdraw online if they receive a state quota seat or decide to surrender the seat, but they must report physically after Round 3. deccanchronicledeccanchronicle

    Rules to remember

    • Offline admissions and resignations are not valid, and seats cannot be surrendered after Round 3. deccanchronicle
    • Online verification applies only to Float candidates, not to everyone.
    • Round 1 registration closes on 21 October at 12 noon, and the allotment result is due on 24 October.

These details come from a news report on MCC’s information bulletin. Confirm them on mcc.nic.in before choosing.

  14. 14 Oct 2026, 11:52 am IST#42

After getting a NEET PG 2026 seat

    1. Check your result on mcc.nic.in and download the allotment letter.
    2. Choose Freeze or Float.
      • Freeze: you are happy with the seat. You report to the college, submit your documents, pay the fee and complete admission.
      • Float: you want an upgrade in a later round. The college nodal officer verifies your documents online and provisionally confirms the seat.
    3. Complete document verification by the deadline, as covered in the documents list I gave earlier.

Factors in NEET PG seat allotment

    1. NEET PG rank: Seats are allotted in merit order, so a better rank gets first claim on seats.
    2. Choices you lock: You are allotted the highest-ranked option on your list that is still available for you, so the order of your choices matters.
    3. Category: Your reservation category (such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS or PwD) decides which seats you are eligible for.
    4. Seat availability: Only seats in the participating colleges’ approved matrix can be allotted, and these can change between rounds.

Your list is broadly right, but it leaves out a few things:

    • Quota and eligibility: The seat types you can claim depend on the counselling you are in. For example, MCC covers All India Quota seats, and state counselling often applies domicile rules.
    • Choice filling is binding: You are never allotted a seat you didn’t list, so fill in more choices than you think you’ll need.

    • The 1,129 total and 15 colleges match the Haryana figures you shared earlier. I haven’t checked the college-wise rows against the NMC matrix itself.

Government seats open to you in MCC are therefore fewer than the totals above, while deemed seats like the two here are fully filled through MCC. medicaldialogues
