LPU PhD Admission August 2026: Interview Slot Booking Open for Schedule II, Check Last Date to Book

Lovely Professional University has thrown open the interview slot booking window for its Ph.D. August 2026 session under Schedule II. If you've cleared the LPUNEST for Ph.D. programs, you can now head to lpu.in and lock in your preferred interview slot.

Here's the catch, though — this window doesn't stay open for long. Candidates usually get just two to three days from the day the LPUNEST result comes out, so logging in and booking a slot right away is the smart move rather than waiting around.

Schedule II Dates You Need to Know

For Schedule II, registrations opened back on 4 May 2026 and closed on 5 July 2026. The entrance test itself was held on 10 and 12 July, and results followed close behind on 15 July 2026.

The interview slot booking window runs from 15 to 17 July 2026. Interviews will take place between 20 and 26 July, with results expected by 30 July. Anyone hoping to secure admission under this schedule needs to complete the process by 10 August 2026.

Who's Eligible to Book a Slot?

Not everyone who registered gets to book an interview — only those who sat for LPUNEST Ph.D. 2026 and cleared it with a qualifying score can proceed. This interview isn't optional either; it's a required step before admission is finalized.

As for the basic eligibility to sit LPUNEST in the first place, candidates need a master's degree in a relevant field with at least 55 percent marks. A four-year bachelor's degree with 75 percent also works. Those applying for agriculture programs need a relevant master's degree with 65 percent marks. SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates get a 5 percent relaxation across the board.

What the Exam Looks Like — and the Scholarship Angle

LPUNEST for Ph.D. is fully online and remotely proctored, so candidates can take it from home. It's a two-hour test split into two sections of 50 questions each.

Scores don't just decide admission, either — they also determine how much scholarship you might get on tuition. The rough cut-offs are 150 out of 200 for Category A, 120 for Category B, and 90 for Category C.

How Admission Actually Gets Decided

It's not just about the entrance test. Final selection combines your test score with how you do in the interview. For most Ph.D. programs, that's a 70-30 split in favour of the entrance test. Agriculture programs weigh things a bit differently, at 80-20.

Booking Your Slot — Step by Step

1. Go to lpu.in and find the LPUNEST section.
2. Log in with your application number and password.
3. Head to the Ph.D. result page and click the interview slot booking link.
4. Pick whichever date and time works for you from the options shown.
5. Confirm it, and don't forget to download your interview call letter.

Documents to Have Ready

Before the interview, get these documents together in soft copy:

• LPUNEST scorecard
• Application form printout
• Master's degree marksheet and certificate
• Bachelor's degree marksheet and certificate
• Government-issued photo ID
• Recent passport-size photograph
• Address proof
• Category certificate (if claiming reservation)
• Short research proposal or statement of purpose

It's also worth doing a quick check of your webcam, mic, and internet connection before the actual interview so you're not scrambling last minute. And keep checking lpu.in — that's where the call letter and final seat allotment results will be posted once interviews wrap up.
