KCET Result 2026 Expected Today: KEA to Release Rank Card Soon at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is set to declare the KCET Result 2026 any time now on its official portal cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Around 3.3 lakh candidates who appeared for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test are eagerly waiting for their rank cards, which are expected to be released between June 3 and 5, 2026, following an official press briefing by KEA, typically scheduled around 11:30 AM.

Why Was the KCET 2026 Result Delayed?

The result declaration, originally anticipated for late May 2026, was pushed to early June due to a rescheduled Agriculture and Veterinary Practical Examination at the Hiriyur center, which took place on June 1, 2026. KEA also had to process and integrate the practical examination marks of approximately 24,250 Agriculture and Veterinary stream candidates before finalizing the results. Once all practical marks were reconciled and answer sheets fully processed, the authority moved ahead with result preparation. The additional evaluation and data verification procedures are the primary reasons behind the delayed announcement.

How Is the KCET 2026 Rank Calculated?

The KCET 2026 merit rank is determined using a 50:50 weightage formula. Fifty percent of the weightage is assigned to the marks scored in the KCET entrance examination itself, while the remaining fifty percent is drawn from the candidate's Class 12 or II PUC board examination marks in relevant subjects. The combined score from both components is used to prepare the final merit list and determine each candidate's rank.

Candidates from CBSE, CISCE, and other non-Karnataka state boards must ensure that their Class 12 marks have been correctly submitted through Digi Locker or the KEA portal before result processing is finalized.

How to Download KCET 2026 Rank Card

Once the result link goes live, candidates can follow these steps to download their KCET 2026 rank card:

• Click Submit to access your scorecard displaying your verified marks and rank.
• Download the rank card and take a printout for use during counselling and document verification.

Candidates are strongly advised to use only the official portals and avoid third-party or unofficial websites that may circulate misinformation.

Server Capacity Boosted for Smooth Access

Anticipating heavy traffic on result day, KEA has reportedly upgraded its server infrastructure to support approximately 3.3 lakh simultaneous logins. However, candidates may still experience temporary delays during peak access hours, particularly immediately after the result is announced. It is recommended to keep login credentials ready in advance to avoid last-minute confusion.

What Comes After the Result?

Following the declaration of KCET 2026 results, KEA will initiate the counselling registration process shortly after. Candidates will need to complete document verification and then proceed with option entry and choice filling for their preferred colleges and courses. Seat allotment will be carried out based on rank, category, and seat availability.

Experts anticipate intense competition this year for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and other emerging technology branches. Top engineering colleges in Bengaluru are expected to witness higher closing ranks due to sustained demand for these courses. Category-wise cutoff lists, along with opening and closing ranks for Engineering, Agriculture, Pharmacy, and other programs, will be released separately by KEA during each round of counselling.

Candidates should download multiple copies of their rank card and verify all personal and academic details immediately after the result is declared. The KCET 2026 rank card is valid for one academic year only.
