The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has started the Round 2 counselling process for JELET 2026. Eligible candidates can complete registration and choice filling from September 11 to September 13, 2026 through the official JELET counselling portal. The JELET 2026 Round 2 seat allotment result will be published on September 15, 2026. Candidates receiving a seat must complete the prescribed seat acceptance and reporting formalities between September 15 and September 17, 2026. JELET counselling is conducted for lateral-entry admission to the second year (third semester) of undergraduate engineering, technology and pharmacy programmes in participating institutions in West Bengal.

JELET 2026 Round 2 Important Dates

EventDate
Round 2 registration and choice fillingSeptember 11–13, 2026
Round 2 seat allotment resultSeptember 15, 2026
Seat acceptance fee/payment and reportingSeptember 15–17, 2026

The official WBJEEB schedule confirms the Round 2 timeline.

Who Can Participate in JELET 2026 Round 2?

WBJEEB has specified several categories of candidates eligible for fresh choice filling in Round 2.

These include:

  • Candidates registering for the first time in Round 2.
  • Candidates who were not allotted any seat in Round 1.
  • Candidates allotted their second or later choice in Round 1 but who were non-responsive.
  • Candidates whose Round 1 seat was cancelled during document verification.

The official counselling notification also specifies separate rules for candidates who accepted seats and opted for upgradation. Therefore, candidates should check their individual Round 1 status before choosing a fresh option set. Candidates must have a valid JELET 2026 General Merit Rank (GMR) or Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR), as applicable, and meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.

JELET 2026 Counselling Fee

The counselling registration fee is ₹500 and is non-refundable. Candidates receiving a seat for the first time in a counselling round must pay a ₹5,000 Seat Acceptance Fee through the prescribed online payment process. Failure to pay within the notified period can lead to cancellation of the allotment.

FeeAmount
Counselling registration fee₹500
Seat Acceptance Fee for fresh allottees₹5,000

The Seat Acceptance Fee should therefore not be described as a fee payable during registration. It becomes applicable after allotment for candidates receiving a seat for the first time.

How to Register and Fill Choices for JELET Round 2?

Candidates can complete the Round 2 process by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official WBJEEB JELET counselling portal.
  2. Open the JELET 2026 counselling login/registration section.
  3. Complete the required registration details.
  4. Enter the JELET application/roll number, rank and required academic information.
  5. Pay the ₹500 counselling registration fee.
  6. View the institutes and courses available according to the candidate's eligibility.
  7. Select preferred institutes and courses.
  8. Arrange the choices in order of preference.
  9. Lock the choices before the September 13 deadline.
  10. Save or print the locked choice list for future reference.

WBJEEB advises candidates to select choices carefully and recommends entering multiple eligible institute/course combinations to improve the possibility of allotment. The board's notification specifically advises candidates to consider at least 20 choices. If a candidate forgets to lock the choices, the last saved choices will be automatically locked after the scheduled deadline.

JELET 2026 Round 2 Seat Allotment

The Round 2 seat allotment result will be released on September 15, 2026.

Allotment is based on factors including:

  • GMR or PMR, as applicable
  • Programme and institute eligibility
  • Reservation/category status
  • Seat availability
  • Order of choices submitted and locked by the candidate

Candidates can log in to the counselling portal to view their allotment status and download the relevant allotment documents.

What Happens After JELET Round 2 Allotment?

Candidates receiving an allotment must complete the applicable Seat Acceptance Fee payment, physical document verification and admission/reporting within the prescribed period. The Round 2 reporting window runs from September 15 to September 17, 2026. Candidates should contact their allotted institute or check its website for specific reporting timings and admission requirements. Candidates should keep their original documents ready for verification. WBJEEB's notification lists documents such as the allotment letter, rank card, Class 10 document for date of birth, Class 12 marksheet, domicile certificate and applicable category certificates.

What Programmes Are Offered Through JELET?

JELET provides lateral-entry admission to the second year or third semester of four-year undergraduate programmes in:

  • Engineering
  • Technology
  • Pharmacy

The counselling covers participating government, government-aided, self-financing and other eligible institutions included in the approved seat matrix.

JELET 2026 Round 3 Schedule

Candidates who do not secure an appropriate seat in Round 2 should also note that WBJEEB has notified a third counselling round.

EventDate
Round 3 registration and choice fillingSeptember 18–20, 2026
Round 3 seat allotmentSeptember 22, 2026
Payment/reportingSeptember 22–25, 2026

WBJEEB identifies Round 3 as the final round of centralised JELET 2026 counselling.
