JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application Rules: NTA Allows Candidates to Submit New Forms, Check Deadlines

Published 31 Oct 20266 min read

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates who have already registered for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 to submit a fresh application form if they have made mistakes in their original submission. The facility is available even to candidates who have already generated an Application Number or paid the examination fee. According to NTA's clarification dated October 30, 2026, candidates submitting a fresh application must enter their details again and upload the required documents. Only the latest application for which the examination fee has been successfully paid and a Confirmation Page generated will be considered valid. The regular deadline for submitting a fresh JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application, including fee payment, is November 22, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. Candidates can also use the late-fee application facility from November 23 to November 26, 2026. NTA has clarified that fees paid against earlier applications will neither be refunded nor adjusted against fresh applications.
JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application: Important Dates
Candidates should carefully check the application and correction schedule before submitting another form.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application process | October 24 to November 22, 2026 |
| Last date for regular application and fee payment | November 22, 2026, up to 11:50 PM |
| Application submission with late fee | November 23–26, 2026 |
| Correction window | November 27–29, 2026 |
Candidates should complete the application process and payment within the applicable deadline.
Who Can Submit a Fresh JEE Main 2027 Application?
Candidates who have made mistakes in their JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application can submit a fresh form under NTA's clarification.
The facility is also available to candidates who have already:
- Generated an Application Number.
- Submitted their application form.
- Paid the examination fee.
Candidates submitting a fresh application will receive a new Application Number. They must enter their information again and upload the required documents, including their photograph and signature.
Which JEE Main 2027 Application Form Will Be Considered Valid?
NTA has clarified that only the latest application for which the examination fee has been successfully paid and the Confirmation Page has been generated will be considered valid. For example, if a candidate has already completed an application and subsequently submits another form but does not complete the payment process or generate its Confirmation Page, the earlier successfully completed application will remain valid. Therefore, candidates should carefully check the payment status and Confirmation Page of their latest application.
Will NTA Refund the Previous JEE Main Application Fee?
No. NTA has clarified that the examination fee paid against an earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the fresh application. Candidates submitting a fresh form should therefore be prepared to pay the applicable examination fee again. They should consider whether submitting an entirely new application is necessary before proceeding.
JEE Main 2027 Correction Window: November 27 to 29
Candidates who have made minor mistakes in their existing application form are advised to use the correction facility instead of submitting a fresh application. The JEE Main 2027 Session 1 correction window is scheduled from November 27 to November 29, 2026. Candidates should check the official NTA website for the list of fields available for correction. Not every application detail is necessarily editable. Using the correction facility may help candidates avoid paying the examination fee again for a fresh application.
NTA Warns Against Appearing Using Multiple Application Numbers
NTA has also clarified the rules concerning multiple Application Numbers. Submitting more than one application does not give a candidate permission to appear in the examination more than once in the same session. Candidates who appear or attempt to appear in JEE Main 2027 using multiple Application Numbers will be treated as having used Unfair Means (UFM). Action may be taken against them under the applicable provisions of the Information Bulletin. However, NTA has distinguished between holding multiple Application Numbers and using multiple Application Numbers to appear in the examination. Merely holding more than one Application Number, without appearing or attempting to appear using multiple numbers, will not by itself be treated as UFM under this clarification.
What Should JEE Main 2027 Candidates Do Now?
Candidates who have already submitted their Session 1 application should first identify the type of error in their form.
Follow these instructions:
- Check the details entered in your existing JEE Main 2027 application.
- If a fresh application is necessary, re-enter all the required information.
- Upload the photograph, signature and applicable documents again.
- Complete the examination fee payment within the prescribed deadline.
- Download and save the latest Confirmation Page.
- Do not attempt to appear in the examination using multiple Application Numbers.
Candidates with minor errors should consider waiting for the correction window, provided the relevant field is available for correction.
Where to Check the JEE Main 2027 Official Notice?
Candidates can visit the official JEE Main website for application updates, public notices, correction instructions and examination-related information.
- Official website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/
- NTA website: https://nta.ac.in/
Candidates are advised to rely on official NTA notifications for the latest instructions and avoid submitting multiple applications unnecessarily. The fresh application facility is intended to help candidates rectify application errors. However, candidates must follow the fee payment, application validity and examination rules specified by NTA.
