The JEE Main 2026 registration cycle for the second session officially concludes today, marking a major turning point for engineering hopefuls. With the Session 1 results processed earlier this month, aspirants are now moving into a high-intensity preparation phase. The upcoming month of March will be the final opportunity for students to refine their problem-solving speed before the April 2nd start date.

Registration Finalization and Correction

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to open the form correction window in the first week of March. This brief period allows candidates who completed their registration this month to rectify minor errors in their category, city preferences, or academic details.

• Over 10 lakh unique candidates are projected to participate in the upcoming session, including many who are seeking to improve their initial percentiles.
• The NTA portal will generate city intimation slips by the second week of March to facilitate travel arrangements for outstation candidates.
• Students must ensure that their uploaded documents comply with the latest specifications to avoid discrepancies during the final admit card issuance.

Shift to Comprehensive Revision

As the Session 2 dates approach, the focus has shifted from chapter-wise learning to full-syllabus mock tests. Mathematics remains a key focus area, as students from the January shifts reported it as the most time-consuming section of the paper.

• Revision strategies are now prioritizing high-weightage topics in Physics and Chemistry to maximize the scoring potential in the limited 180-minute window.
• Candidates are increasingly using the "Error Profiling" technique to minimize negative marking in the numerical-value questions.
• The table below outlines the critical milestones for the remainder of the JEE cycle:

Conclusion

In conclusion, the closure of the registration window today signifies the start of the ultimate countdown for Session 2. Aspirants are entering a month of rigorous practice and finalization of academic strategies to secure their ranks in the 2026 national merit list.
