IIT Madras Demo Day 2026: Registration Open for JEE Advanced Qualifiers; Event on June 6–7

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has announced its Demo Day 2026, a two-day on-campus outreach event scheduled for June 6 and 7, 2026. The initiative is exclusively designed for students who have qualified JEE Advanced 2026 and their parents, giving them a first-hand experience of campus life before finalizing their institute preferences during JOSAA counselling. Registration for the event is open on the official portal askiitm.com and is completely free for all registered JEE Advanced qualifiers.

What Is Demo Day and Why Does It Matter

Demo Day is IIT Madras' annual bridge event that connects prospective students with the institute community before the admission process concludes. Unlike virtual tours or information brochures, the event offers in-person interactions with faculty, researchers, and current students. For students navigating the high-stakes decision of choosing between top IITs, a direct campus experience can provide clarity that no ranking list or website can replicate.

What Attendees Can Expect

Participants will have access to a structured two-day program covering multiple facets of academic and campus life. The agenda includes guided tours of academic departments and research laboratories across disciplines such as Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and interdisciplinary research centers. Students will also get to explore the IIT Madras Incubation Cell, one of the most active technology startup ecosystems in the country, as well as innovation hubs and entrepreneurship facilities.

Beyond academics, sessions will cover hostel life, sports infrastructure, student clubs and cultural activities, curriculum design, placement records, and opportunities for higher education and research. Dedicated sessions on JOSAA counselling and admission procedures will help students understand the seat allocation process better.

Parents attending alongside their wards will have direct access to the IIT Madras community to address questions around academics, student safety, welfare facilities, and overall campus environment.

How to Register

Students can register by visiting askiitm.com, filling in details including their JEE Advanced roll number, name, and contact information, and submitting the form. On the event day, attendees must carry a valid photo ID and their JEE Advanced 2026 scorecard for verification. Given that slots are limited, early registration is strongly advised to avoid missing out.

About IIT Madras
