IIT Delhi Opens Applications for Advanced Certificate in Agentic AI at cepqip.iitd.ac.in

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has opened applications for a new Advanced Certificate in Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI). The program has been introduced by the Continuing Education Program (CEP) division of the institute, and the notification is now live on the official portal, cepqip.iitd.ac.in. Interested candidates can register on the portal before the application deadline.

Course Format and Key Dates

The six-month certificate program will be delivered entirely in live online mode and is being offered in collaboration with the SeNSE Center at IIT Delhi. The application window for Batch 1 closes on September 24, 2026, and classes are set to begin two days later, on September 26, 2026.

Who Is This Program For?

IIT Delhi has designed Batch 1 primarily for working professionals in technology and engineering roles, including engineering professionals transitioning into AI system architecture, product and innovation leaders driving agentic AI initiatives, and technology decision-makers evaluating enterprise-scale AI adoption.

What Does the Curriculum Cover?

The course is built around designing deployment-ready autonomous AI systems, moving learners beyond generative AI into full agentic workflows that combine theoretical grounding with hands-on industry tools. The main modules include:

• Agentic AI foundations and autonomous system design principles
• Large Language Models used as core reasoning engines
• Multi-agent architecture design, orchestration, and coordination patterns
• Model Context Protocols, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and long-term memory
• Governance frameworks, ethical AI, and responsible autonomy practices

Learners will get hands-on exposure to tools such as LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, n8n, Flowise, and Docker. Assessment will be based on four module-end projects and one enterprise capstone project, with all coursework graded by IIT Delhi faculty.

How to Apply

Candidates can complete the application process entirely online through the following steps:

1. Visit the official CEP portal, cepqip.iitd.ac.in
2. Open the page for the Advanced Certificate in Agentic AI
3. Click on the apply link listed on the program page
4. Fill in personal, academic, and professional details in the application form
5. Upload the required supporting documents as instructed

Why This Program Matters

Enterprises are increasingly moving beyond generative AI toward fully agentic systems capable of planning, reasoning, and acting with minimal human intervention. IIT Delhi's new certificate has been timed to address this fast-growing skills gap, giving working professionals a structured, faculty-graded pathway into agentic AI system design.

Action Plan for Candidates

Candidates interested in applying should visit cepqip.iitd.ac.in and review the program page carefully, including the eligibility notes and curriculum outline. They should keep identity proof, academic records, and work experience documents ready in advance, complete the online application form, and ensure submission well before the September 24, 2026 deadline. The first live session is scheduled for September 26, 2026, so candidates should also track the CEP portal for updates on shortlisting, fee payment, and enrolment confirmation.
