IIM Guwahati’s admission process has started for the first MBA batch

IIM’s are institutions that are being managed by the Government of India. The Government appoints Top-level Academicians for the role of Vice- Chancellor or Directors. A few other times, Head of Departments (HOD) are also appointed by the Central Government or State Government based on the affiliation of colleges. To keep scrutiny in this process, affiliations are also managed and being seen from time to time.

IIM’s are management colleges governed by the Indian Central Government. These are quite premiere and they bring diversity and inclusiveness together. Management schools have the approach to execute people with a similar mindset to similar goals. That’s what, probably, they are being taught for two rigorous years before being pushed into the corporate industry.

Although it would be demeaning to say that students from management schools are always pushed into the corporate industry. Few others zoom out of the loop and take a different path. To manage this mindset, the Government of India keeps introducing new IIM’s. The youngest one on table is IIM Guwahati. The engineering schools and management schools are constructed based on Land Laws currently being passed by the judiciary.

Admissions to IIM Guwahati, youngest one in this approach of the Indian Government, are open for session 2026-2028.  The admission will be for 70 students and the reservation policy will be applied professionally. Students of General Category might get an interview call at 85 percentile while Person with Disabilities might get it at 70 percentile. Students of OBC, SC, ST category will get an interview call from 70-85 percentile.

Students will have to go through two phases of Interview process.

  • Academic Qualification- 10,12 percentage, Undergrad marks
  • Common Admission Test Result score/percentile

There is a deadline for students of Final Year Undergraduation. Going through this approach will get you an admission to Indian Institute of Management, Guwahati.
