Atal Medical and Research University has opened the first-round application route for Himachal Pradesh postgraduate medical counselling for the 2026–27 session. The university’s prospectus, released on October 22, 2026, provides an application and successful fee-payment window from October 22 to October 26.
The published dates table gives no closing time for October 26. Applicants should complete the process early and check the university’s current notices for any further instructions.
Application dates and fees
| Item | Published information |
|---|---|
| Applications and successful fee transactions begin | October 22, 2026 |
| Last date for application and successful fee transaction | October 26, 2026 |
| General/EWS application fee | ₹3,600 |
| SC/ST application fee | ₹2,500 |
| PwD application fee | Nil |
| State merit list and further counselling schedule | To be notified separately |
These are application fees. Candidates should assess tuition, hostel charges, deposits and bond conditions separately before choosing a college.
Keep the registration deadline separate from choice filling and allotment. Submission of an application does not itself select a college or secure a seat.
Check the quota before applying
The prospectus covers the State’s centralised counselling route for government State-quota seats and private medical-college seats. Eligibility differs between direct candidates, in-service doctors, management quota and NRI quota.
Candidates should read the relevant section against their MBBS institution, Himachali status and service record. Do not assume that eligibility for one quota establishes eligibility for every other quota.
The prospectus separately restricts the State’s DNB seats to regular Himachal GDOs and excludes contract GDOs from that DNB route. Applicants seeking MD/MS seats should examine their own quota rules rather than applying the DNB condition to all postgraduate medical seats.
For college-specific costs, make a list of the charges that are payable immediately and those due later. Compare that list with your available funds before submitting preferences.
Complete the form after payment
Start from AMRU’s official PG counselling page and select the 2026 first-round registration link. The page retains an older heading, so match the linked notice and application session carefully.
Use your own email address and mobile number. Enter your name and examination details consistently with the NEET PG record, and retain the credentials securely.
Payment alone does not complete the application. The prospectus requires candidates to fill and finally submit the form after successful payment and obtain the confirmation copy.
Check the submitted form before saving and printing it. If money is deducted but confirmation is missing, inspect the application status and seek clarification through the university’s published contact details.
Prepare for the merit list and choices
Keep your examination record, academic documents, applicable category or service certificates, and payment acknowledgement together. Check scans for legibility and consistency before uploading them.
The university will announce the State merit list and subsequent counselling schedule separately. The prospectus also says seat distribution will be displayed separately after the relevant updates.
Once those notices appear, compare the actual available course, college, and quota with your preferences. Read each round’s instructions and preserve the final choice record.
Use the official 2026–27 prospectus for the full eligibility, documents, and admission conditions. Monitor AMRU’s current notices and ONLY EDUCATION News for further verified developments.
