How Is the FT Masters in Management Ranking Calculated?

The FT Masters in Management ranking evaluates programmes using 19 criteria, covering areas such as salary, salary growth, career progression, careers services, value for money, alumni networks, diversity, international exposure and ESG-related teaching. Alumni responses account for 56% of the overall ranking, while information supplied by participating business schools accounts for the remaining 44%. The methodology therefore places substantial emphasis on graduates' career and salary outcomes, alongside institutional and programme-level indicators.

Three Indian B-Schools Enter FT's 2026 Ranking

Three institutions appearing in the 2026 top 100 were not listed among the 2025 top 100: NMIMS Mumbai, IMT Ghaziabad and TAPMI. Meanwhile, IIM Lucknow moved down from 57th in 2025 to 72nd in 2026. The results show that India's representation has expanded beyond the traditional IIM-heavy group, with 14 institutions now appearing in the FT's global top 100.

What Does the FT MiM Ranking Mean for Management Aspirants?

The FT ranking can be used as one source when comparing management programmes, particularly for students interested in career outcomes, international exposure and alumni performance. However, candidates should not select a programme based solely on its FT position. They should also compare programme structure, fees, admission requirements, placement outcomes, location, curriculum, specialisations and career goals. Admission requirements also vary between institutions. Candidates should check the respective institute's official admission portal for the applicable entrance examination and eligibility criteria.
