Engineering Applicants Submit Forms for TS PGECET 2026 Across Telangana

The registration process for the Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) 2026 is currently in full swing across the state. This state-level entrance examination is conducted by Osmania University on behalf of the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). It serves as the primary gateway for admission into regular postgraduate courses such as Master of Engineering (M.E.), Master of Technology (M.Tech.), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.), and Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) for the 2026-2027 academic session. As of March 15, 2026, thousands of technical graduates have already initiated their online applications through the official TS PGECET portal.

Qualified candidates, including those with valid GATE or GPAT scores, are participating in this cycle to secure seats in university and affiliated engineering colleges. While GATE and GPAT qualified students are often given preference during the seat allotment process, the TS PGECET remains a crucial examination for other aspirants aiming for postgraduate specialization. The university has streamlined the digital portal to ensure that students from various districts of Telangana can complete their submissions without technical hurdles.

Application Steps and Document Verification

The TS PGECET 2026 registration is a multi-step process that requires careful attention to detail. Aspirants must ensure that all entered data matches their academic certificates to avoid complications during the counseling phase.

• Candidates must first pay the registration fee through designated TS Online centers or via credit/debit cards and net banking.
• After payment, students can fill out the application form by providing personal details, educational history, and local status information.
• High-quality scanned copies of a recent passport-size photograph and signature must be uploaded according to the official size specifications.
• Applicants can choose their preferred examination centers from a list of regional centers established across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
• The system provides a preview of the application, allowing students to verify their data before clicking the final 'Submit' button.
• Upon successful submission, a unique registration number is generated, which is required for downloading the hall ticket in the future.

Examination Structure and Admission Guidelines

The TS PGECET 2026 will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) to maintain transparency and efficiency. The exam is designed to test the technical proficiency of students in their respective undergraduate engineering or pharmacy disciplines.

• The test consists of multiple-choice questions with a total duration of two hours, focusing on the core subjects of the student's chosen field.
• There is a minimum qualifying mark requirement for the entrance test, though this is waived for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories.
• The syllabus for each of the 19 different papers is available for download on the TGCHE website.
• Admission into the PG courses is strictly based on the merit rank obtained in the entrance test or through valid national-level scores.
• Candidates must also satisfy the local/non-local status requirements as per the presidential order to be eligible for state-quota seats.
• The university will conduct separate counseling sessions for GATE/GPAT qualified candidates and TS PGECET rank holders.
