Delhi University's MSc Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (PMBB) admission process is in full swing, and Round 1 allocated candidates have a firm deadline staring at them. Anyone who received a seat allocation in Round 1 must complete their admission fee payment by July 17, 2026, on the official portal, admission.uod.ac.in. Miss it, and that seat could open right back up for someone else.

This two-year postgraduate program, run by the Department of Plant Molecular Biology, is a fairly small and specialised offering, just 25 seats in total, filled through two parallel entry routes: CUET PG 2026 and the DBT GAT-B 2026 examination. With numbers this tight, every deadline in this process carries real weight.

How to Pay the Round 1 Admission Fee

If you've been allocated a seat, here's exactly what to do before the window shuts:

  1. Visit the DU admission portal, admission.uod.ac.in
  2. Log in using your enrolment number and date of birth
  3. Open your M.Sc PMBB allocation letter
  4. Click on the fee payment link on your dashboard
  5. Complete payment via net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI
  6. Download and save the fee receipt for future reference

What Happens If You Weren't Allocated in Round 1

Not everyone gets a seat in the first round, and that's exactly what Round 2 exists for. Once the July 17 fee deadline passes, any seats that remain unpaid, and therefore vacant, will feed directly into the Round 2 pool. The merit list for this round releases on July 20, 2026, and candidates will be considered based on rank, category, seat availability, and their admission stream.

Fresh allocation letters will be issued through the candidate dashboard, along with a separate window to accept the seat and pay the fee.

Am I Eligible?

Eligibility comes down to your bachelor's degree and aggregate marks, along with qualifying the relevant entrance exam:

CategoryMinimum Aggregate
UR / OBC-NCL / EWS50%
SC / ST45%
  • CUET PG stream: Candidates must qualify either SCQP07 (Botany) or SCQP17 (Life Sciences)
  • GAT-B stream: Candidates must have qualified the DBT GAT-B 2026 examination

Why the July 17 Deadline Actually Matters

This isn't just a routine cutoff, it directly shapes what Round 2 looks like. Every seat that stays unpaid past July 17 gets added to the vacancy pool, which then widens the opportunity for candidates waiting on the Round 2 merit list on July 20. So whether you're on the allocated side or still waiting, this date affects your chances either way.

What Candidates Should Do Right Now

  • Log in to admission.uod.ac.in and check your Round 1 status
  • If allocated, complete fee payment before July 17, 2026, don't leave it to the last day
  • Save your fee receipt and allocation letter as proof
  • If not allocated in Round 1, start preparing for the Round 2 merit list on July 20
  • Keep category certificates, mark sheets, and ID proof ready for verification
  • Check the portal daily for further round schedules and department notices

What's Coming Next

The Round 2 merit list is set to drop on July 20, 2026, on admission.uod.ac.in, followed by fresh allocation letters and a new fee payment window for those who make the cut this time around.
