The University of Delhi (DU) has begun the new academic session for 2026-27 starting from July 28, 2026, as announced in the official academic calendar available on the university's website at du.ac.in.

The University of Delhi (DU) has begun the new academic session for 2026-27 starting from July 28, 2026, as announced in the official academic calendar available on the university's website at du.ac.in. Classes have started for the first, third, fifth, and seventh semesters of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs in all affiliated colleges and departments. The North Campus and other DU colleges welcomed new students with orientation and induction events. Miranda House held its induction programme called 'Deeksharambh 2026' from July 24 to July 28.Various colleges also conducted department-specific orientation sessions in different time slots before the first regular classes began. The academic year is divided into two parts: the odd semester runs from July to December 2026, and the even semester runs from January to May 2027. This schedule applies to regular UG and PG courses but does not include the DU School of Open Learning (SOL) students, who follow a separate calendar.

The odd semester covers semesters I, III, V and VII. Below is the official schedule for the first half of the academic year.

CSAS Admission Status for 2026-27

The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for UG admissions was opened on June 26, 2026, and is still active as classes are ongoing. PG admissions continue through the university's portal as well. There is an option for eligible PG candidates to join mid-way through the session, which requires a fee of Rs 1,000. Students can apply and check their admission status on the CSAS portal at admission.uod.ac.in. 

How to Check the DU 2026-27 Academic Calendar?

Students can view the full academic calendar on the official DU website. The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to the official website at du.ac.in.
  2. Look for the 'Academics' section on the homepage.
  3. Click on 'Academic Calendar 2026-27'.
  4. Open the PDF file to check the odd and even semester schedules.
  5. Download and save a copy for your records.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Visit the official DU website and download the 2026-27 academic calendar.
  2. Check your college and department's orientation schedule with the college office.
  3. If you are a new UG or PG applicant, complete any pending steps on the CSAS portal.
  4. Note down the important dates like autumn break, winter break, and exam dates in your planner.
