BITS Pilani Expands 100% Tuition Fee Scholarship to Top 1,000 BITSAT 2027 Rankers

Published 2 Nov 20263 min read

BITS Pilani has announced an expansion of its full tuition fee scholarship programme for the 2027 admission session, extending the benefit to eligible students among the top 1,000 BITSAT 2027 rankers. This doubles the coverage compared to the 2026 admission session, when the scholarship was available to eligible candidates ranked among the top 500. Under the expanded scholarship scheme, students whose annual family income is up to ₹20 lakh will be eligible for a 100% tuition fee waiver for four years, subject to maintaining a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 7.5.
BITS Pilani Scholarship to Be Included in Admission Offer
According to BITS Pilani Group Vice Chancellor V Ramgopal Rao, the scholarship will be included directly in the admission offer. Eligible students will not have to submit a separate scholarship application after joining the institute. This move is expected to simplify the scholarship process and provide greater clarity to students and their families while making admission decisions. Candidates appearing for BITSAT 2027 should carefully review the scholarship conditions mentioned in their admission offers to understand their eligibility and financial benefits.
What Does the BITS Pilani 100% Scholarship Cover?
The scholarship provides a complete waiver of tuition fees for four years. However, students should note that the benefit does not cover every expense associated with studying at BITS Pilani.
The following conditions apply:
- Tuition fee: 100% waiver for four years.
- Family income: Annual family income must not exceed ₹20 lakh.
- BITSAT rank: Candidate must be among the top 1,000 rankers in BITSAT 2027.
- Academic performance: Students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5.
- Other expenses: Admission charges, hostel fees and other non-tuition expenses are not covered under the full tuition fee waiver.
Therefore, students should consider additional educational and living expenses while calculating the overall cost of studying at BITS Pilani.
Scholarship Coverage Doubles for BITSAT 2027
The expansion marks a significant increase in the number of students who can potentially benefit from the full tuition fee scholarship. For the 2026 admission session, the programme covered eligible students among the top 500 BITSAT rankers. From the 2027 admission session, the coverage will extend to eligible candidates among the top 1,000 rankers. This means students ranked between 501 and 1,000 will also come within the announced scholarship bracket, provided they satisfy the family income and academic eligibility requirements.
What BITSAT 2027 Aspirants Should Know
The expanded scholarship programme could make BITS Pilani more financially accessible to high-performing students from families with an annual income of up to ₹20 lakh. However, securing a rank within the top 1,000 does not automatically guarantee the scholarship. Candidates must also meet the prescribed income criteria and maintain the required CGPA throughout the scholarship period. BITSAT 2027 aspirants should therefore check the official admission offer and applicable scholarship terms before making their final admission decisions.
