Bihar’s NEET UG 2026 stray-vacancy counselling registration starts on 19 October, with new registration closing at 10 pm on 21 October. BCECEB has issued the schedule for filling seats left after Round 3, with the provisional allotment result due on 24 October.
The 18 October notice covers MBBS and BDS admissions as well as BVSc & AH and BFSc courses. Candidates must follow the conditions for their own course and previous counselling status, because the routes available to a fresh applicant and an earlier allottee can differ.
Eligible candidates who completed their application earlier may need to give consent through their existing account. Applicants who did not register or did not complete the prescribed application and payment should read the fresh-application provisions.

Registration ends before choice locking. Keep those tasks separate when planning your application, particularly if you are comparing more than one state’s counselling process.
Check eligibility before selecting colleges
Candidates already admitted to a medical or dental college in India, and those allotted an AIQ stray-round seat, are excluded under the notice’s restrictions.
There is a further distinction for candidates whose Bihar Round 3 MBBS/BDS allotment was cancelled: the specified consent-and-fresh-payment route permits them to compete for veterinary and fisheries seats, not another MBBS/BDS seat in this stray round.
Do not choose a category of participation simply because the portal allows you to log in. Match your previous allotment, reporting and admission records with the applicable clause in the detailed official notice.
Review the latest vacancies and your preferences
BCECEB has linked the updated vacancy matrix on its website. The board also says further vacancies may be reflected through an updated matrix, so candidates should check the current version before deciding.
Prepare a short comparison sheet with course, college, location, and total expected cost. Keep MBBS, BDS, veterinary and fisheries preferences clearly identified rather than treating every available choice as an equivalent option.
Ask yourself whether you would actually join each institution on the list. Check travel feasibility and accommodation with your family before finalising preferences. An unfamiliar college deserves a closer look at its official information, not an automatic place at the bottom of a long list.
Prepare for reporting before the result
Failure to complete the required reporting and admission can lead to cancellation and security-deposit forfeiture.
Use the days before allotment to organise originals and readable scans, check payment arrangements and identify how you would reach the allotted institution. Keep your application acknowledgement and final choices together so that you can quickly compare them with the allotment order.
The BCECEB website carries the application route, notices, and vacancy information. Candidates following the previous stage can also read Only Education’s Bihar Round 3 report for background; the new stray-round notification governs the next steps.
