The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam has pushed back the counselling deadline. This change applies to the Assam Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026 counselling process. Candidates can sign up and choose their preferred college and branch at dte-assambtech.samarth.edu.in. The updated schedule is listed in the official notification on the portal. The counselling period started on July 10, 2026. It was originally supposed to end on July 17, 2026. Now, those who missed the original deadline can still complete their registration. They need to upload the required documents and finalize their college and branch choices. A non-refundable fee of Rs 800 must be paid online.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Only those who took the Assam CEE 2026 exam are eligible for counselling. They must have a valid rank card from DTE Assam. The counseling includes government and private engineering colleges within the state. 

How to Register for Assam CEE 2026 Counselling?

The registration process is done online in five steps through the DTE Assam portal. Each step must be completed before the revised deadline. If any step is missed, the candidate will lose the chance to get a seat in that round.

1. Visit the official portal at dte-assambtech.samarth.edu.in.
2. Log in using your CEE 2026 application number and date of birth.
3. Fill in the personal, academic, and category details in the form.
4. Upload scanned copies of all the required documents in the correct format.
5. Pay the Rs 800 fee through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

How to Fill and Lock Choices?

After registration, candidates can access the choice-filling window on the portal. They must list the colleges and branches in order of their preference. The system allows edits until the deadline closes. Preferences must be locked before the revised deadline. If they are not locked by then, they will be automatically locked when the window closes.Seat allotment will then be done based on rank, category, and the locked preferences.

1. Assam CEE 2026 admit card and rank card
2. Class 10 mark sheet and pass certificate
3. Class 12 mark sheet and pass certificate.
4. Category certificate for SC, ST, OBC, or EWS applicants; PwD certificate, if applicable
5. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam
6. Passport-size photograph and scanned signature
7. Valid photo identity proof
