AIIMS MSc Open Round 2026: Vacant Seats

AIIMS has published a separate vacant seat position for the Open Round of seat allocation for M.Sc. Courses/M. Biotechnology for the August 2026 session. The vacancy position should be used by candidates while deciding their preferred institute and subject. Candidates should check the official vacancy document carefully because the number and distribution of seats can vary by AIIMS institute, subject/speciality and category.

Who Can Participate in AIIMS MSc Open Round?

Eligibility for the Open Round will be governed by the AIIMS 2026 Open Round notice and the applicable M.Sc. admission rules. Candidates should not assume that every candidate who appeared for the entrance examination is automatically eligible. AIIMS will determine eligibility based on the applicable merit list, previous counselling participation, seat status and other conditions specified in the Open Round notice. In previous AIIMS M.Sc. counselling rules, candidates who had not received a seat in earlier rounds could be considered for a subsequent Open Round, while candidates holding seats could be subject to separate restrictions. However, these previous rules should not be treated as the 2026 eligibility criteria unless reproduced in the current notification.

AIIMS MSc Open Round Seat Allocation

Seat allocation will be based on the rules prescribed by AIIMS, including candidate merit, eligibility, available seats and applicable category rules. The exact method of Open Round allocation should be taken from the 2026 notification rather than assumed from previous years. Older AIIMS M.Sc. prospectuses have specified a separate final Open Round process, including different procedures from the first and second rounds.
