Practice Mock Tests: Mock tests make you familiar with the computer format and improve your time management.

Steps to Prepare Mock Tests for JEE Mains 2026

1. Understand the Exam Pattern

       Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

       Sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Questions: 90 (30 each subject, but you attempt 25 in each)

Marking: +4 for correct, –1 for wrong, 0 for unattempted

       Total Marks: 300

2. Collect Reliable Question Sources

     * Previous year JEE Main papers (at least last 10 years)

*NCERT examples & exercises (especially for Chemistry)

*Coaching institute question banks (FIITJEE, Allen, Resonance, etc.)

*Online JEE mock platforms (NTA Abhyas App, Embibe,  etc.)

3. Structure of Your Mock Test

SubjectNo. of QuestionsType of Questions
Physics30 (attempt 25)20 MCQs + 10 Numerical (attempt 5)
Chemistry30 (attempt 25)20 MCQs + 10 Numerical (attempt 5)
Mathematics30 (attempt 25)20 MCQs + 10 Numerical (attempt 5)
Total90 (attempt 75)MCQs & Numerical Value Based

4. Set Exam Conditions

             * Duration: 3 hours (180 mins)

              *No breaks, no distractions

*OMR sheet practice (if offline) or use a CBT platform (if online)

              *Keep a timer running

5.After the Test: Analyze Performance

*Check accuracy (how many correct vs. attempted)

*Identify weak topics (e.g., calculus errors, organic chemistry reactions)

*Track time spent per subject (Maths usually more time )

*Maintain an error logbook → write every mistake & revise it weekly

6. Frequency of Mock Tests

               *Phase 1 (Now – Dec 2025): 1 mock test every 2 weeks

*Phase 2 (Jan – Mar 2026): 1 mock test per week.

*Phase 3 (Final 2 months before exam): 2–3 mock tests per week.

Studying for JEE Mains 2026 is more than just an intellectual endeavor, it's a test of your endurance, willpower, and capacity to go above and beyond. Thousands of students from all over India will take the test, but how well you spend each hour of study time—rather than how many hours you put in—will stand out from the throng. Being a genius is not enough to succeed in JEE, instead, one needs dedication, practice, and astute planning.

The mistakes that many students make include seeking new books, answering arbitrary questions, and continuously evaluating themselves against others. The reality, however, is straightforward. JEE promotes conceptual clarity, precise problem-solving, and strength under duress. Solve problems if you can write consistently.

On some days, you will feel worn out, a question will seem impossible to overcome, or your mock test result will let you down. Those are the times that really make you who you are. Winners are not those who never fail; rather, they are those who get back up after failing each and every time. Learn from your mistakes. Every incorrect response on a practice test serves as a teaching tool, highlighting areas for improvement rather than a sign of failure.

Revision is another important issue. No matter how hard you study, your knowledge will deteriorate if you don't revise. Maintain a notepad for chemistry reactions, a formula notebook for math and physics, and a mistake logbook for every topic. Every day, even for 30 minutes, read them. Making these minor adjustments will help you stay accurate and maintain a keen memory.

Have faith in yourself beyond all else. Confused, unsure, and occasionally even afraid, you were once in the same place as thousands of tops before you. But because they believed in their own hard work, they succeeded. One day, you might be one of them. Although the material may seem extensive and the competition challenging, keep in mind that JEE evaluates the quality of study, not the quantity of study.

Conclusion

So, JEE Main 2026 offers a door to some of the finest technical institutes in India. It's essential to stay updated about key notifications, registration timelines, and dates for exams. Success in JEE Main 2026 is within your reach only with strategic planning, dedication, and regular practice. Remember, this exam not only tests your knowledge, but also stands as statement of your persistence and dreams. Good luck!
