NEET UG 2025 is the entrance examination for medical and dental courses in undergraduate level only in India. Administered by the NTA, It assesses students’ content knowledge in Physics Chemistry and Biology for entry into medical and dental colleges all over the country.

NEET UG 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for NEET UG 2025, candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements:

Age Limit

Employment applicants are expected to be 17+ by 31st December, 2025. At present, there is no upper-limit age for it.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicant must have done class 12 or any equivalent exam from any recognized board with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology / Bio-Technology), and English.
  • The qualification criteria of general category candidates include minimum of 50% of the aggregate of the marks in PCB. PWD candidates it is 45%, while for SC/ST/OBC applicants it is 40%

Nationality

The target of this program includes the following People of India, Overseas citizen of India, Persons of Indian origin and foreign persons.

NEET UG 2025 Syllabus

In NEET, the syllabus completed was NCERT Class eleven and twelve. Here is the subject-wise breakdown:

1. Physics

  • Class 11: The topics have been included as the Physical world, Units and Measurements, Motion, Laws of motion, work, energy power, thermodynamics to say a few
  • Class 12: Basic Charges, Steady Charge, Current Electricity, Magnetic Force, Light and sound, Electromagnetic waves such as X-rays, Gamma-rays, Radio waves, and light.

2. Chemistry

  • Class 11: Organic and Inorganic Chemistry: The Structure of and Atom, The periodic table; Thermodynamics; Equilibrium; Hydrocarbons etc. 
  • Class 12: Earning Grad: Physical Chemistry -phase, e.g. electrochemistry, solid-state; coordination compounds. Organic Chemistry- aliphatic, carbohydrates, amino acids, polymers, and so forth.

3. Biology

  • Class 11: Including all such things like Diversity of Living Organisms, Structural Organization in Animals and Plants, Cell Structure and Function, etc.  
  • Class 12: Bio genetic engineering, Bio technology/ genetics / Environmental science/ Reproduction/ etc.

NEET UG 2025 Exam Pattern

Understanding the exam pattern is crucial for preparation:

  • Mode: Pen-and-paper (offline).
  • Duration: 3 hours and 20 minutes.
  • Total Questions: 200 (180 to be attempted).

Sections:

  • Physics: Each test is made up of 50 questions although only 45 questions are normally attempted.
  • Chemistry: 50 questions of which at least 45 are attempted
  • Biology: They include 100 questions of which only 90 are usually attempted.

NEET UG 2025 Required Documents

Candidates must have the following documents ready, which are very important:

  1. Admit card
  2. Official identified document (Aadhaar card / PAN card/Passport etc.)
  3. Passport-sized photographs
  4. Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
  5. Any other category certificate (if any)
  6. PWD certificate (if any)

NEET Result and How to check NEET UG 2025 Result

Like every year, the result of NEET under the UG 2025 is expected to be declared online. By Follow these steps you can check your result:

  1. Access www.nta.ac.in NEET official website.
  2. Go to the following link of NEET UG 2025 Result.
  3. Please, type your roll number, date of birth, and your 4 digit security pin.
  4. Normally, you can view and download your scorecard for further use after taking the test.

NEET UG 2025 Counselling Schedule

After the result, the NEET UG 2025 Counselling Schedule will be announced. The candidates can fill their application online, and they also have the choice to select their college of preference. Counselling in total takes place in phases such as All India Quota and the State Quota.

NEET UG 2025 counseling happens through Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% AIQ seats and through respective state governing bodies for 85% state quota seats.

  • Step 1: Registration

Carry out a self-registration on the Ministry of commerce and Industry counselling website or on the state counselling website.

  • Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking

Secure and lock your desired college and courses.

  • Step 3: Seat Allotment

The seats are given according to rank, preference and category of a candidate.

  • Step 4: Reporting to Allotted College

To provide detailed information on each college the format of reporting has been designed. Submit a report to the specific college within the time line with important documents attached.

  • Step 5: Mop-Up Round 

(if applicable: these are additional rounds specific to certain schools and university where a candidate is selected before proceeding to a specific round or being rejected outright)

If all these candidates fail to secure their preferred choice they are offered mop- up round.

NEET UG 2025 application process

The IIT NEET UG 2025 application process is quite simple but elaborate in its approach. Here’s how to apply:

  • Step 1: Registration
  1. Visit the official NTA NEET website: nta.ac.in or neet.nta.nic.in
  2. By using registration link just give the details like name, date of birth, email id and mobile number etc.
  • Step 2: Fill the Application Form
  1. Go to the home page, enter your data and finish the application with your personal, academic and contact information.
  • Step 3: Upload Documents

Upload scanned copies of the following documents:

  1. Passport-sized photograph
  2. Signature
  3. F. Class 10 and 12 certificates
  4. Any category certificate applicable
  • Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
  1. The amount can be paid online such as through credit card/ debit card, net banking and Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
  • Step 5: Print Confirmation Page
  1. Last of all, after you have filled the form and submitted you’ll then be taken to a confirmation page which you should download and print for further use.
