A significant milestone for thousands of engineering aspirants seeking admission to B.E./B.Tech courses in Maharashtra has been achieved today, July 12, 2025. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has officially released the Provisional Merit List for MHT CET 2025 Counselling. This eagerly anticipated list provides the provisional ranks for Maharashtra State candidates, All India candidates (those applying through JEE Main scores), and J&K & Ladakh Migrant candidates, laying the groundwork for the upcoming Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds.

Candidates who successfully completed the online registration and document verification for MHT CET 2025 CAP counselling can now access their provisional rank and review their submitted details on the official website, fe2025.mahacet.org or mahacet.org. This provisional list is not the final one and is subject to change based on the grievances and corrections submitted by candidates.

Immediate Actions for Aspirants:

It is imperative for all registered candidates to undertake the following actions without delay:

Check the Provisional Merit List Carefully:

  • Visit the official website (fe2025.mahacet.org or mahacet.org).
  • Log in using your application ID and password.
  • Locate and click on the link for the MHT CET 2025 Provisional Merit List.
  • Meticulously verify all personal details, MHT CET or JEE Main scores, provisional rank, and, crucially, the category mentioned. Any discrepancies, no matter how minor, could impact future seat allotment.

Grievance Submission (July 13 to July 15, 2025): This is the most critical next step. If a candidate identifies any discrepancy in their name, scores, category, or any other relevant information displayed in the provisional merit list, they must submit a grievance online within this specified period.

The window for grievance submission will open tomorrow, July 13, 2025, and will close on July 15, 2025.

For candidates who opted for physical scrutiny of documents during the registration phase, they might need to visit a designated Facilitation Centre (FC) to submit their grievances and provide supporting documents. Online mode is available for those who had e-scrutiny.

Ensure all supporting documents for your grievance are clear, valid, and uploaded in the correct format.

Roadmap to Final Allotment and CAP Rounds:

Following the grievance submission period, the CET Cell Maharashtra will thoroughly review all submitted objections and make necessary corrections. This process will culminate in the publication of the Final Merit List for MHT CET 2025 on July 17, 2025. This final list will serve as the definitive ranking for seat allotment in all subsequent CAP Rounds.

After the Final Merit List is released, the detailed schedule for the Online Submission and Confirmation of Option Forms for CAP Round-I (Choice Filling) will be announced. This phase is tentatively expected to commence in August 2025. During the choice filling process, candidates will strategically select their preferred engineering colleges and branches in order of priority, which will then be considered for seat allocation based on their rank and reservation category.

Documents to Keep Ready (for later stages and future reference):

While the immediate focus is on the merit list and grievances, candidates should ensure they have all their original documents and several attested copies ready for the physical reporting process after seat allotment. These typically include:

  • MHT CET 2025 Scorecard
  • JEE Main 2025 Scorecard (if applicable for All India Quota)
  • Class 10th Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate
  • Class 12th Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate
  • School Leaving Certificate (SLC) / Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • Domicile Certificate (for Maharashtra State candidates)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste Validity Certificate (if applicable)
  • Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for OBC, VJ/NT, SBC candidates, if applicable, valid for 2025-26)
  • EWS Certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD Certificate (if applicable)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Passport size photographs

The release of the Provisional Merit List today marks a crucial step in the MHT CET 2025 engineering admission cycle. Engineering aspirants are strongly advised to remain vigilant, meticulously check their details, and be prepared to submit grievances if required. Regular monitoring of the official CET Cell Maharashtra website is essential for all further updates and the detailed schedule for the CAP Rounds, which are the next critical steps in securing a seat for their Higher Education in Maharashtra's esteemed engineering colleges.
