The apex court has delivered a landmark judgment regarding the limit for attempts for JEE Advanced candidates which effectively retains the scheme of two attempts for most of the applicants.

The Supreme Court passed a verdict finalizing the rule on the number of tries for the JEE Advanced to two, with no changes in the policy. While making the two-attempt rule a regulation, the court ruled in favor of those aspirants who dropped out of the examination between November 5 and 18, 2024, by providing them with a third opportunity. This was in accordance with the views of the Joint Admission Board restricting attempts at the exams so that students can focus on their undergraduate courses.
