Stay informed on the latest updates for IISER counselling. Learn about the new dates for Round 4 seat allotment and the next steps for BS-MS, BS Economics, and B.Tech aspirants.

For students who appeared for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) and are waiting for their seat allotment, there's an important update. The seat allotment for IISER Counselling Round 4, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed. The new date for the release of the seat allotment list is now August 18, 2025. This change affects all aspirants waiting for admission offers to the five-year integrated Bachelor of Science-Master of Science (BS-MS), four-year BS Economics, and B.Tech programs offered across various IISER campuses.
Revised Counselling Schedule
According to the revised schedule, the admission offers for Round 4 will be available on the official IISER admissions website from August 18 to August 21, 2025. Candidates can check their seat allotment status by logging in with their user ID and password. The seat allotment is based on a candidate's IAT rank, their category, the preferences they submitted, and the availability of seats at the respective institutions.
What to Do Next
If you are allotted a seat in this round, you will be presented with a few options. You must either accept or reject the offer. If you choose to accept, you can opt for either 'accept and float' or 'accept and freeze'. The 'accept and float' option allows you to confirm your seat while remaining eligible for an upgrade in subsequent rounds, while the 'accept and freeze' option secures your seat and opts you out of further rounds.
To complete the acceptance process, candidates must pay a non-refundable seat acceptance fee. The fee is set at Rs. 35,000 for general category students and Rs. 17,500 for those in the SC and ST categories. It's crucial to complete this step within the specified deadline to secure your admission.
IISER Admission 2025
This year, the IISER admission process is being conducted in four rounds to fill a total of 2,363 seats. This delay in the fourth round provides a little extra time to prepare for the final steps of the counselling process.
