The ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT) 2025 registration process is in its final phase, with the application window closing on December 19, 2025. Conducted by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad, IBSAT is the mandatory entrance exam for candidates seeking admission to the MBA and PGPM programs at all nine IBS campuses across India. With just a few days remaining, Management aspirants must expedite their application submission to participate in the exam, which is a crucial step towards securing a PGDM/MBA seat in the 2026-28 batch.

IBSAT 2025: Final Registration and Exam Timeline

The entire IBSAT process, from registration to the final selection rounds, operates on a fixed and tight schedule. Missing the registration deadline will disqualify candidates from taking the test.

  • Registration Final Deadline: December 19, 2025. The application fee is ₹1,800, covering admission consideration for all nine IBS campuses.
  • Exam Dates: The IBSAT 2025 exam will be conducted over two days: December 27 & 28, 2025.
  • Exam Format: The test is a 2-hour, remote proctored computer-based test taken from home. It consists of 140 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with no negative marking.

Key deadlines for the admission cycle:

  • Slot Booking/Admit Card: Slot booking for the preferred test date (Dec 27 or 28) and time slot is currently ongoing and must be completed before the exam date.
  • Result Declaration: Expected in the first week of January 2026.

The IBSAT Selection Process

IBSAT scores serve as the primary criterion for shortlisting candidates for the final selection rounds, which are typically held at the IBS Hyderabad campus.

  • Shortlisting Criteria: Candidates are shortlisted based on their IBSAT scores or their scores in other accepted national-level exams like CAT, GMAT, or NMAT by GMAC.
  • Cut-off Expectations: While IBS Hyderabad generally has the highest expected cut-off (around 70-80 percentile), the cut-offs vary across the other eight campuses (e.g., IBS Mumbai, IBS Bangalore).
  • Selection Rounds: The final selection process, scheduled for February 2026, includes:
    • Micro Presentation (MP): Candidates present briefly on a given topic, evaluating communication and structured thinking.
    • Personal Interview (PI): Assesses general knowledge, confidence, and overall personality.

Other Accepted Scores and Eligibility

While IBSAT is highly recommended for streamlined entry, IBS also accepts scores from other exams, provided candidates meet the basic academic eligibility.

  • Alternative Scores: High scores from CAT/GMAT/NMAT are accepted, allowing candidates to bypass the IBSAT exam. Candidates must update these scores online, generally by January 31, 2026.
  • Academic Eligibility: A bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and a minimum of 15 years of education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4 format). Final year students are eligible, provided they complete their degree requirements by May 31, 2026.

Conclusion: Timely Registration is Paramount

With the deadline of December 19, 2025, fast approaching, the IBSAT 2025 registration phase is the most immediate concern for aspiring management students. Successful registration opens the door to the MBA/PGPM programs at all nine IBS campuses, offering a path to quality management education. All eligible MBA aspirants must visit the official IBSAT portal (ibsindia.org) and complete their online registration and fee payment before the cut-off on December 19, 2025, to secure their test slot.
