The ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT 2025) registration has officially commenced, marking the start of the MBA admission process for ICFAI Business School (IBS) campuses across the country. The IBSAT exam is the mandatory management entrance exam for securing a seat in the MBA/PGPM programs offered by the nine IBS campuses, including the flagship IBS Hyderabad. This is a crucial step for thousands of management aspirants aiming for a strong career in management. While a high score in IBSAT 2025 is essential, candidates with valid scores in other national-level exams like CAT, NMAT by GMAC, XAT, and GMAT can also apply. This article provides a detailed roadmap to help you with the registration process and prepare for the upcoming exam.

Registration Process and Key Dates

The IBSAT registration is an online process that is common for all nine IBS campuses. The application fee is a non-refundable ₹1,800 for all candidates. It's important to complete the registration well before the deadline to avoid any technical difficulties.

Key dates for the IBSAT 2025 admission process:

  • IBSAT 2025 Registration Start Date: July 1, 2025
  • Last Date for Application: Third week of December 2025
  • IBSAT 2025 Exam Dates: December 27 and 28, 2025
  • Admit Card Release: First week of October 2025
  • Result Declaration: First week of January 2026
  • Selection Process (MP & PI): Second week of February 2026

The IBSAT exam is a remote-proctored, home-based test, providing flexibility for aspirants. It is a computer-based exam lasting two hours. A strong IBSAT score is the first step toward a successful MBA admission.

Eligibility and Examination Pattern

Before beginning the IBSAT registration, a candidate must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. The IBSAT eligibility is a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Final-year students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements by May 31, 2026. This exam assesses a candidate’s aptitude and proficiency across various sections.

Understanding the IBSAT Exam Pattern:

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension: These sections evaluate a candidate's grasp of the English language and their ability to interpret passages quickly.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests problem-solving skills with questions from arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
  • Data Adequacy and Data Interpretation: This section requires a candidate to analyze and interpret data presented in various formats.

The IBSAT exam consists of 140 multiple-choice questions, and there is no negative marking, which allows students to attempt every question without fear of losing marks. A thorough preparation strategy covering all sections of the IBSAT syllabus is highly recommended.

The Final Selection Process at IBS

The IBSAT exam score is a crucial part of the selection, but the journey to a confirmed seat doesn’t end there. Shortlisted candidates, based on their IBSAT score or other national-level exam scores, are invited for a selection process. This is the final stage where an aspirant’s overall personality and aptitude for an MBA program are assessed.

The IBS selection process includes:

  • Micro Presentation (MP): Candidates are given a topic and a short time to prepare and present their thoughts. This round evaluates their public speaking and logical thinking skills.
  • Personal Interview (PI): This one-on-one interview assesses the candidate's academic background, work experience (if any), and motivation for a career in management.

The final MBA admission is based on the composite score from the entrance exam, past academic records, and performance in the MP and PI rounds.
