A significant update for engineering aspirants is on the horizon for the COMEDK 2025 counselling process. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has officially announced that the choice filling for COMEDK 2025 engineering admissions will begin after July 12, 2025. This crucial stage is contingent upon the successful document verification of candidates, a prerequisite that must be met by the specified deadline.

The COMEDK UGET 2025 examination was conducted on May 10 and May 25, 2025 (for postponed centers), with results declared on June 7, 2025. The initial phase of counselling, including online registration and document uploading, ran from June 9 to June 30, 2025. As of today, July 5, 2025, the document verification process is actively underway, with July 12, 2025, being the last date for this crucial step.

COMEDK 2025 Choice Filling to Begin After July 12

The COMEDK 2025 choice filling window will open only for those engineering aspirants whose uploaded documents have been successfully approved by the COMEDK authorities. This essential step allows candidates to select their preferred engineering colleges and courses based on their COMEDK UGET 2025 rank.

Key Timeline: The COMEDK document verification status will be updated in the applicant's login under the 'Document Upload' tab. Candidates must ensure their status is 'Document Approved' by July 12, 2025, to participate in the choice filling which will follow this date.

Official Platform: All activities related to COMEDK 2025 counselling, including choice filling, will take place on the official website: comedk.org. Engineering aspirants are advised to frequently check this portal for specific dates and instructions for the choice filling phase.

Significance: The choice filling phase is paramount for engineering aspirants as it directly influences their seat allotment in the various participating private engineering colleges of Karnataka. Careful consideration and strategic selection of preferences are vital for securing preferred Higher Education programs.

Understanding the Document Verification Prerequisite for Choice Filling

The document verification process is a fundamental step in the COMEDK 2025 counselling. Its primary purpose is to confirm the eligibility and authenticity of the documents submitted by engineering aspirants, ensuring a fair and transparent admission process.

Mandatory Approval: Only candidates with a "Document Approved" status will be eligible to proceed to the choice filling and subsequent seat allotment rounds. Candidates whose documents are marked for "Resubmit" must address the queries and re-upload the correct documents promptly within the stipulated time, failing which their candidature may be cancelled for Higher Education in these colleges.

Key Documents for Verification: Engineering aspirants were required to upload various documents during the registration phase. These typically include:

  1. COMEDK UGET 2025 Rank Card/Scorecard
  2. SSLC/10th Mark Sheet (for Date of Birth proof)
  3. PUC/12th Standard or equivalent Mark Sheet
  4. 12th Admit Card/Hall Ticket (if applicable)
  5. COMEDK UGET 2025 Admit Card (Test Admission Ticket - TAT)
  6. Valid Photo ID Proof (PAN/Passport/Voter ID/Driving License/Aadhaar)
  7. Category Certificates (SC/ST/OBC) and Karnataka Domicile Certificate (if applicable, only for claiming lower eligibility criteria for engineering admissions based on state rules, as COMEDK does not provide category-based seat reservation)
  8. Kalyana Karnataka Region (KKR) Certificate (if applicable)

Process: The document verification is primarily conducted online by COMEDK officials. Engineering aspirants must ensure that all uploaded documents are clear, legible, and match the details provided in their application form to avoid any delays or rejections in the admission process.

Next Steps for Engineering Aspirants: Mock Allotment and Final Seat Allotment

Once the choice filling window closes, COMEDK proceeds to the seat allotment rounds, which often include a mock allotment phase to aid engineering aspirants in making informed decisions.

Mock Allotment: COMEDK typically releases a mock allotment result before the final seat allotment. This indicative result helps candidates understand their potential seat allotment based on their filled choices and ranks. It serves as a valuable tool for engineering aspirants to review their preferences and make adjustments if necessary, optimizing their chances of securing their desired Higher Education course and college.

Choice Editing: Following the mock allotment, a window is usually provided for candidates to edit, reorder, add, or delete their choices. This is a critical opportunity for engineering aspirants to refine their preferences, taking into account the trends observed in the mock allotment and their personal priorities for engineering colleges.

Final Seat Allotment: After the choice editing period, the final COMEDK 2025 Round 1 seat allotment result will be published. Candidates who are allotted a seat must then make a decision (Accept & Freeze, Accept & Upgrade, Reject & Upgrade, or Reject & Exit), pay the requisite fees online, and download their allotment letter.

Reporting to Colleges: Candidates who "Accept & Freeze" their allotted seat must physically report to the respective engineering colleges within the stipulated deadline with all original documents for final verification and completion of the admission formalities. Failure to report on time may lead to the forfeiture of the allotted seat.

The COMEDK 2025 counselling process is a multi-stage procedure that demands careful attention to deadlines and guidelines. Engineering aspirants are strongly urged to stay informed through the official COMEDK website and prepare all necessary documents to ensure a smooth transition into their chosen Higher Education engineering program.
