A critical phase in the Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (AP POLYCET) 2025 admissions process has begun. The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh, has officially opened the web options entry for Phase 1 counselling, starting with candidates who secured ranks from 1 to 50,000. This highly anticipated window, which commenced on June 30, 2025, allows Engineering Aspirants to select their preferred polytechnic colleges and diploma programs. Due to recent adjustments, the entire Phase 1 schedule has been rescheduled, making it imperative for all eligible candidates to stay informed and adhere to the updated timelines for polytechnic admissions.

The AP POLYCET examination is a gateway for students seeking Higher Education in engineering and non-engineering diploma courses across various government, aided, and private polytechnic institutions in Andhra Pradesh. The web options entry is a pivotal step where candidates lock in their choices, which will determine their seat allotment based on their rank, category, and preferences. With the revised dates now active, timely action is crucial for a successful admission into their desired engineering diploma programs.

AP POLYCET 2025: Revised Phase 1 Web Option Dates and Key Milestones

The SBTET AP has released a comprehensive revised schedule for AP POLYCET 2025 Phase 1 counselling. Engineering Aspirants must meticulously follow these dates to ensure their participation in the web options process:

Web Option Entry - Rank Wise:

  • Ranks 1 to 50,000: June 30 to July 1, 2025 (currently ongoing).
  • Ranks 50,001 to 90,000: July 2 to July 3, 2025.
  • Ranks 90,001 to Last Rank: July 4 to July 5, 2025.

Date of Changing Options: Candidates will be provided a dedicated window to modify their submitted choices on July 6, 2025, for all ranks. This is a crucial opportunity to review and refine preferences before final processing.

Date of Release of AP POLYCET Seat Allotments: The Phase 1 seat allotment results are slated to be released on July 9, 2025. Candidates will be able to check their allotted college and course by logging into the official portal.

Self-Reporting and Reporting at Allotted College: Post-allotment, successful candidates must complete their self-reporting (online) and physical reporting at their respective allotted polytechnic colleges from July 10 to July 14, 2025. Both steps are mandatory to confirm admission.

Commencement of Class Work: The academic session for newly admitted students is scheduled to commence on July 10, 2025.

It is important to note that the processing fee payment and certificate verification for AP POLYCET 2025 Phase 1 were already conducted from June 20 to June 27, 2025, and June 21 to June 30, 2025, respectively. Only candidates who have successfully completed these initial steps are eligible to participate in the web options entry.

Understanding the AP POLYCET Web Options Entry Process

The web options entry is arguably the most critical step in the AP POLYCET counselling process, as it directly impacts a candidate's chances of securing a seat in their desired college and branch. Here’s a general guide to Engineering Aspirants on how to exercise their web options:

  1. Access the Official Website: Visit polycetap.nic.in during your designated rank-wise slot.
  2. Login to Candidate Portal: Use your AP POLYCET Hall Ticket number, Rank, Date of Birth, and the password generated during the counselling registration to log in.
  3. View Available Options: The system will display a list of eligible colleges and courses based on your rank, category, and eligibility.
  4. Exercise Options (Choice Filling): Carefully select your preferred polytechnic colleges and branches in descending order of priority. It is highly recommended to fill in as many options as possible to maximize your chances of seat allotment. Consider factors like college location, faculty, infrastructure, placement records, and the specific engineering diploma program.
  5. Save Options: After selecting your choices, remember to 'Save' them periodically. The system usually allows saving multiple times.
  6. Review and Freeze Options: On the designated 'Change of Options' date (July 6, 2025), you can review, add, delete, or re-order your choices. Once you are completely satisfied with your preferences, you must 'Freeze' or 'Lock' your options. Once locked, options cannot be changed. If options are not explicitly locked, the last saved options will be automatically frozen at the end of the specified date.
  7. Print Options: After freezing, it is advisable to take a printout of your filled-in options for future reference.

Careful planning and research about colleges and courses before the actual web options entry are highly recommended to make informed decisions.
