The commencement of the World University of Design's (WUD) 2026 admission cycle is a major development for thousands of design aspirants across India and beyond. As the country's first university dedicated exclusively to the creative domain, WUD offers programs that are benchmarked against global standards. Interested candidates must act fast, as the registration window closes soon.

  • Final Application Deadline: December 30, 2025
    • This is the strict last date for submitting the online application form and paying the mandatory application fee of ₹2,000/- for both UG and PG programs. Early application is strongly advised to avoid system congestion on the final day.
  • The Primary Screening Test: WUDAT 2026
    • The mandatory World University of Design Aptitude Test (WUDAT 2026) is scheduled to be conducted online (remotely) on January 4, 2026. This three-hour examination is the cornerstone of the admission process for most Design, Art, and Communication courses.
    • The aptitude test evaluates core creative skills essential for success in design, focusing on areas like Creative Skills and Drawing Aptitude, Observation and Perception, Problem-Solving and Logical Reasoning, and Imaginative/Visualization Abilities.
  • Alternate Exam Scores Accepted
    • WUD offers flexibility by accepting scores from various national-level entrance exams for direct shortlisting to the interview and portfolio round. This includes UCEED (for B.Des), CEED (for M.Des), NID/NIFT Entrance Exams, and NATA/JEE Main Paper 2 (for B.Arch).

 Understanding the Multi-Stage Admission Process

The admission procedure at WUD is designed to assess a candidate's inherent creative potential, conceptual clarity, and motivation, rather than relying solely on academic percentages. It is a comprehensive, multi-stage process to ensure only the most passionate and capable individuals are selected.

  • Online Application & Registration: Candidates must first register on the official WUD website, filling out the detailed form with personal and academic information and uploading scanned copies of necessary documents (10th/12th/Graduation mark sheets).
  • Aptitude Test (WUDAT/AAT/GAT): Successful applicants must appear for the relevant aptitude test—WUDAT for Design, AAT for Art, or GAT for Management programs, as per their chosen course.
  • Personal Interview (PI) and Portfolio Review: Shortlisted candidates from the aptitude test round will be invited for a Personal Interview, often conducted virtually. For design and art courses, a Portfolio Review is a non-negotiable stage.
    • The PI assesses the candidate’s communication skills, clarity of thought, career goals, and fundamental understanding of the chosen creative field.
    • The portfolio serves as a visual résumé, demonstrating original creative work, technical skills, and the ability to execute an idea. Applicants should showcase their best work, including sketches, digital art, photography, craft samples, or project prototypes.

Future-Focused Programs for UG and PG Aspirants

WUD offers a robust curriculum that stays ahead of the rapidly evolving creative industry. The programs available cater to a broad spectrum of creative fields, ensuring graduates are equipped with future-ready skills.

  • Undergraduate (UG) Programs (B.Des, B.Arch, B.V.A, B.Tech, B.A. Hons):

    • The B.Arch program strictly adheres to Council of Architecture (CoA) guidelines, preparing students for professional practice.
    • B.Tech. in Computer Science & Design offers a unique blend of technology and creative thinking, a highly sought-after combination in the modern industry.
  • Postgraduate (PG) Programs (M.Des, M.V.A, M.P.A, MBA):
    • M.Des. Specializations focus on advanced domains like Human-Centered AI & Experience Design, Future Mobility & Transportation Systems, and Sustainable & Digital Fashion Futures, aligning with global industry trends.
    • M.V.A. (Master of Visual Arts) and M.P.A. (Master of Performing Arts) offer advanced study in traditional and contemporary art and performance practices.
    • The MBA program is specifically tailored for Design Strategy & Management, preparing students for leadership roles within creative organizations.

The World University of Design provides not only a dynamic curriculum but also a vibrant campus life, international collaboration opportunities, and strong placement assistance, ensuring a holistic educational experience. This is a chance to step into an ecosystem where creativity meets commerce, and ideas become tangible realities. Apply before the December 30, 2025, deadline to secure your place in the future of creative industries.
