Eligibility and Programme Highlights

WUD offers a wide array of programs across its various schools, each with specific minimum eligibility requirements to maintain academic standards.

  • For UG Programmes (B.Des, BVA, BBA):
    • Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
    • For B.Arch, the criteria also include a minimum of 50% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and a valid NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 score, as per Council of Architecture (CoA) guidelines.
    • The upper age limit for most Bachelor's programs is restricted to 20 years.
  • For PG Programmes (M.Des, MVA, MBA):
    • A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying undergraduate degree is mandatory.
    • For M.Des and MVA, having a relevant Bachelor’s degree like B.Des or BFA/BVA is preferred or mandatory for certain specializations.
  • Accepted Lateral Scores: WUD also accepts scores from national-level entrance exams. Candidates with valid scores in UCEED (for B.Des), CEED (for M.Des), or NID/NIFT Entrance Exams are often given preference or directly shortlisted for the subsequent Portfolio Review/Interview rounds.

 Understanding the Admission Process

The selection procedure at WUD is meticulously designed to assess a candidate's inherent creative and problem-solving abilities. It typically involves three structured stages for most UG and PG programs.

  • WUD Aptitude Test (WUDAT): This is the primary online entrance exam (DAT/PG-DAT for Design, AAT/PG-AAT for Art, GAT/PG-GAT for Management). The test typically lasts for three hours and evaluates Creative Skills, Drawing Aptitude, Problem-Solving, and Observation/Perception Skills.
  • Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates proceed to an online or in-person Personal Interview. The PI focuses on assessing the candidate's motivation, career clarity, and general knowledge about the chosen field of study.
  • Portfolio Review (Creative Evidence): Aspirants must be ready to showcase their creative journey through a strong portfolio. This could include drawings, sketches, digital art, photography, craft samples, or design projects, visually validating their technical skill and conceptual ability.

Conclusion

The opening of the WUD 2026 admission window presents a golden opportunity for aspiring creative professionals. With the application deadline on December 30, 2025, and the WUDAT on January 4, 2026, the critical period for submission is now.
