As of January 30, 2026, Symbiosis International University (SIU) has initiated the shortlisting process for its flagship MBA programs. Following the January 9 result declaration, premier institutes like SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are now inviting top percentilers for the GE-PI-WAT rounds. Learn about the expected cut-offs, the selection timeline, and the weightage criteria for the 2026-28 admission cycle.

The admission cycle for Symbiosis International University (SIU) has entered its most decisive phase. Following the release of the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2025 results earlier this month on January 9, various constituent institutes have commenced the shortlisting of candidates for the next rounds of selection. Leading the way, the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Pune and SCMHRD have started issuing calls to aspirants who met the rigorous percentile benchmarks.

Phase II Selection and GE-PI-WAT Schedule

The shortlisting process marks the transition from the entrance exam to the personality assessment stage. Each institute under the SIU umbrella follows an independent timeline for conducting their Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interaction (PI), and Writing Ability Test (WAT).

  • Call Declaration: Most top-tier institutes, including SIBM Pune, announced their lists of shortlisted candidates between January 19 and January 25, 2026.
  • Slot Booking: Shortlisted students are currently in the process of booking their preferred slots for the GE-PI rounds through the respective institute websites.
  • Process Mode: Following the hybrid trends of recent years, many Symbiosis institutes are conducting these selection rounds in a physical format at designated centers, while some continue with a proctored online interface.
  • Admit Card for GE-PI: Candidates must download a separate admit card for the interview process, which is distinct from the original SNAP entrance test hall ticket.

Institute-wise Cut-offs and Merit Criteria

The competitive nature of SNAP 2025 is reflected in the high cut-offs observed across the premier campuses. Since SIU considers the best of three attempts without normalization, the percentiles required for a shortlist call have remained impressively high.

  • SIBM Pune Benchmarks: As the flagship institute, SIBM Pune typically requires a percentile above 98.5 for the general category.
  • SCMHRD Requirements: Known for its HR and Analytics programs, SCMHRD follows closely with cut-offs generally hovering around the 96–97 percentile range.
  • Niche Institutes: Specialized institutes like SIOM Nashik (Operations) and SICSR (IT) provide opportunities for candidates with scores in the 82–87 percentile bracket.
  • Reservation Policies: SIU adheres to strict reservation guidelines for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, which significantly influences the category-specific shortlisting thresholds.

Symbiosis MBA 2026 Final Selection Weightage

The following table breaks down how the final merit list is calculated by SIU institutes to determine the batch of 2026-28.

Conclusion

The ongoing shortlisting across SIBM and other SIU institutes represents the final hurdle for thousands of management hopefuls. With the GE-PI-WAT rounds scheduled to take place throughout February, the university is on track to announce the first merit list by the end of next month. Candidates are currently focusing on profile-based preparation and current affairs to navigate the 50% weightage assigned to the personality assessment rounds. This phase ensures that the final selection is not just based on a candidate's aptitude in a 60-minute test, but also on their communication skills, leadership potential, and overall fit for the Symbiosis legacy.
