Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has officially confirmed a significant revision to the exam pattern for the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2025. This crucial update, which is a major takeaway for thousands of aspiring managers, sees a change in the sectional weightage, with the Logical Reasoning section now holding the highest number of questions and marks. The SNAP 2025 registration, which began on August 1, is currently underway, and aspirants are advised to adjust their preparation strategies to align with this new structure.

The SNAP exam, a gateway to over 16 Symbiosis institutes including SIBM Pune, SCMHRD Pune, and SIBM Bengaluru, is known for its speed-based format. With a total of 60 questions to be solved in a brisk 60 minutes, every change in the exam pattern is critical. This year, the revised structure places an unprecedented emphasis on Analytical and Logical Reasoning, making it a key differentiator for candidates aiming for a high percentile. The new pattern replaces the previous equal distribution of questions with a clear focus on a single section, thereby altering the strategic approach to the exam.

The New SNAP 2025 Exam Structure

The SNAP 2025 exam will continue to be a computer-based test (CBT) with a total duration of 60 minutes. The paper will be divided into three sections, but the question distribution has been re-calibrated. The new sectional breakdown is as follows:

  • General English: This section will have 15 questions, each carrying one mark, for a total of 15 marks.
  • Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency: This section will have 20 questions, each carrying one mark, for a total of 20 marks.
  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning: This is the most significant change, with the number of questions increased to 25, each carrying one mark, for a total of 25 marks.

The total number of questions remains 60, with a total score of 60. The marking scheme, with a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer, also remains unchanged. This new structure makes the Logical Reasoning section the single largest component of the SNAP exam, accounting for over 40% of the total questions and marks.

Implications for Aspirants: The New Preparation Strategy

The increased weightage of Logical Reasoning means that it can no longer be treated as a secondary or a less important section. Aspirants must now dedicate a substantial portion of their preparation time to this area. A strong performance in this section will be a key factor in achieving a high percentile and, consequently, a shortlist from top Symbiosis institutes.

Here’s a brief on what this change means for preparation:

  • Practice Variety: The Logical Reasoning section in SNAP tests a wide range of topics, including Coding-Decoding, Syllogisms, Blood Relations, Arrangements, and Critical Reasoning. Aspirants should practice a diverse set of questions from these topics.
  • Focus on Speed and Accuracy: As SNAP is a speed-based exam, the ability to solve Logical Reasoning questions quickly and accurately is paramount. Time-bound practice sessions and mock tests will be crucial.
  • No Sectional Time Limits: Since there are no sectional time limits in SNAP, candidates can strategize their exam approach. Many experts suggest starting with the strongest section to build confidence, and for most, the Logical Reasoning section, now with its higher weightage, may be the ideal starting point.
  • Analyze Mock Tests: Aspirants should take mock tests regularly and analyze their performance to identify their weak and strong areas within the Logical Reasoning section. This will help them fine-tune their preparation and improve their scores.

Key Dates for SNAP 2025

With the registration window now open, here is a quick look at the important dates for SNAP 2025:

  • Registration Start Date: August 1, 2025
  • Last Date to Register: November 20, 2025
  • SNAP 2025 Exam Dates: There are three test dates in December, and candidates can appear for up to all three, with the highest score being considered for the final percentile calculation. The exam dates are December 6, 14, and 20, 2025.
  • Result Announcement: January 9, 2026

The change in the SNAP exam pattern for 2025 is a crucial update that requires a strategic shift in preparation. Aspirants who adapt quickly to this new focus on Logical Reasoning will have a significant advantage in the race for a seat at Symbiosis institutes.
