The Medical Counselling Committee is set to process the seat allotment results for NEET PG 2025 Round 3 on January 29.Qualified medical graduates have completed their registration and choice filling following a significant reduction in the qualifying cut-off percentile. A revised seat matrix has introduced fresh vacancies across several government and deemed universities, offering a final chance for MD/MS admissions. Candidates must prepare for physical reporting and document verification at their allotted colleges starting from the first week of February. Ensure you download your official allotment letter from the MCC portal as soon as the results are published to confirm your post-graduate medical seat.

As of January 29, 2026, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has transitioned into the critical seat allotment phase for the third round of national admissions. While the headline indicates a pending registration, the counselling schedule was actually accelerated following a landmark decision by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to reduce the qualifying cut-off to the 0th percentile for certain categories. This shift allowed a massive influx of new graduates to complete their online profile setup and choice locking between January 15 and January 26. Today, the focus shifts to the internal processing of data, with the official result publication expected within the next 24 hours.

Revised Seat Matrix and Vacancy Updates

The Round 3 counselling process has seen several updates to the available pool of seats to accommodate the revised eligibility criteria.

  • New Seat Addition: According to the latest MCC notification, 292 new seats were added across various government medical colleges in Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.
  • Total Availability: The current clear vacancy for this round stands at approximately 10,101 seats, providing a significant opportunity for graduates who were previously ineligible.
  • Virtual Vacancies: There are over 18,000 virtual vacancies, which include seats occupied by candidates who have opted for upgradation from previous rounds.

Allotment Result and Reporting Timeline

The processing of the Round 3 allotment is currently underway, and the seat allotment result will be the final regular opportunity for All India Quota (AIQ) aspirants.

  • Result Publication: The results are scheduled for release on the official portal on January 29, 2026.
  • Reporting Window: Successful graduates must physically report to their allotted medical institutions from January 30 to February 6, 2026.
  • Mandatory Documents: Candidates are required to carry their NEET PG 2025 admit card, scorecard, MBBS degree, and permanent/provisional registration certificate issued by the NMC.

Guidelines for the Stray Vacancy Round

For those who do not secure a seat in this round, the MCC will conduct a final stray vacancy round.

  • Eligibility: Only those who have not been allotted a seat in Rounds 1, 2, or 3 are eligible to participate in the stray round.
  • Institutional Verification: On February 7, institutions will share the data of joined candidates to ensure no duplicate admissions exist between the AIQ and state-level quotas.
  • No Resignation: Candidates are reminded that once a seat is joined in Round 3, resignation is not permitted, and the security deposit will be forfeited if the seat is vacated.

Conclusion

The NEET PG 2025 Round 3 counselling is reaching its climax with the seat allotment result due on January 29. With the revised cut-off opening doors for many more graduates, the competition for clinical branches remains high across premier institutions. Candidates should remain vigilant and keep their documentation ready for the immediate reporting phase, as the academic session is already in progress and the MCC has mandated a strict adherence to the remaining timeline.
