The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Government of Maharashtra, has provided important updates for aspirants seeking admission to the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program for the academic year 2025-26. The admission process is based on scores from either the JEE Main Paper 2 or the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) is currently underway, with key dates and procedures for students to secure their seats.

Understanding the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP)

The CAP is the primary method for MHT CET B.Arch admissions. It consists of multiple rounds, including the institute-level rounds. The seat allotment is based on the candidates' rank in the final merit list and the choices they fill during the option entry period.

Key stages of the counselling process include:

  1. Registration: Candidates register online and upload necessary documents.
  2. Document Verification: Documents are verified at designated Facilitation Centres (FCs).
  3. Merit List: A provisional merit list is released, and candidates can raise grievances. After addressing these, the final merit list is published.
  4. Choice Filling: Candidates submit their preferences for colleges and courses. Fresh choices can be filled for each round.
  5. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on merit and filled choices.
  6. Seat Acceptance: Once a seat is allotted, candidates must decide whether to "Freeze," "Float," or "Slide."
    • Freeze: The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in subsequent rounds.
    • Float/Slide: The candidate has accepted the seat but is open to getting a better-preferred seat in a subsequent round. If a better seat is allotted, the previous one is automatically canceled. If not, the current seat is retained.
  7. Reporting: Candidates who have accepted a seat must report to the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) to confirm their admission by submitting documents and paying the required fees.
