The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially released the much-awaited NEET PG 2025 Round 1 Seat Allotment Result, marking a major milestone for thousands of postgraduate medical aspirants. According to the official data released, a total of 26,889 seats have been provisionally allotted across the All India Quota (AIQ), Central Universities, and Deemed Institutions in this first round of counselling.
This announcement comes as a significant update for the vast pool of candidates who appeared for the exam. This year, over 2 lakh candidates (2,00,000+) appeared for the highly competitive NEET PG 2025, out of which 1,28,116 candidates successfully met the qualifying criteria. Securing a seat in Round 1 is a crucial step towards commencing their specialized training in MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses.
Immediate Action Required: Reporting Deadline is December 1
Successful candidates must immediately download their Provisional Allotment Letters from the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in. The most critical immediate step is the physical reporting and admission process.
The MCC has set a strict timeline for joining the allotted institutions:
Reporting/Joining Period: November 23, 2025, to December 1, 2025
Candidates must report to their allotted college with all necessary original documents, including the allotment letter, academic certificates, NEET PG Scorecard, and required fee payment. Failure to report by the December 1st deadline will lead to the forfeiture of the allotted seat, and depending on the security deposit rules, may impact their future participation. Aspirants are strongly advised to check the reporting schedule and document checklist provided by their specific allotted college.
Upcoming Schedule: Preparation for Round 2
For those candidates who did not secure a seat in Round 1, or those who took a 'Free Exit' or opted for 'Upgradation' after reporting, the next opportunity is the Round 2 Counselling.
The registration process for Round 2 will commence immediately after the Round 1 reporting phase concludes:
Round 2 Registration Begins: December 2, 2025
Aspirants are advised to meticulously review the updated seat matrix, which will incorporate seats vacated by non-reported candidates from Round 1. It is essential to utilize the window before December 2nd to research colleges and courses, prepare a fresh set of choices, and ensure they are ready to register as soon as the portal opens.
Important Note on Seat Acceptance
Candidates who are satisfied with their Round 1 allotment should proceed to join the college. Those who wish to upgrade must still complete the admission process at the Round 1 allotted college and indicate their willingness for upgradation during the admission process. The seats allotted to candidates who choose the 'Free Exit' option in Round 1 will be added back to the pool for Round 2.
This is a dynamic and time-sensitive period for all PG medical aspirants. For regular updates on admission procedures and official notices, follow Only Education News.
