Understanding the Exam Pattern
The MAT exam is a 120-minute test consisting of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) distributed across five sections, with 30 questions in each section.
| Section Name | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Language Comprehension | 30 | 30 |
| Intelligence and Critical Reasoning | 30 | 30 |
| Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency | 30 | 30 |
| Mathematical Skills | 30 | 30 |
| Indian & Global Environment | 30 | 30 |
The marking scheme provides +1 mark for every correct answer and a penalty of -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Candidates must carefully manage the two-hour duration, as there is no sectional time limit, allowing for flexible movement between sections.
